Never a superstar noterity wise, but the guy was all pro. He was really good, just not mainstream popular.
jesus.
ok, you two enjoy each other
Skill position players are not bulky, and being tall does transfer well, it's just that other countries don't have tall people with athleticism
Yeah, a country not even in the top ten of tallest populations just happens to have all of the tall athletes, reasonable.
And no, it doesn’t, they’re not nimble, agile or quick enough, otherwise there’d be more goliaths in football that aren’t just centre backs and Peter Couch haha.
it may not be reasonable but it's true, only 25% of the NBA players are foreign born, why can't other countries, which account for millions more people playing basketball on equally competitive level as the US get more than 25%?
skill position players in football are not goliaths lol
Perhaps because the NBA is an American League and basketball is a big sport predominantly in America, that is why there are more Americans in the NBA, obviously.
Yes, a lot of people play basketball, but it isn’t anything like in America and is tiny compared to other sports around the world and America has been historically shit at exporting their sporting brands- re- NFL, NBA and MLB.

He pretty much owes 90% of his "fame and notoriety" to beating on a women.
It's kinda sad to think that if he didn't assault a woman, just left the NFL and tried MMA, he wouldn't be in the UFC right now. The only reason he's here is because the publicity he got from beating up a lady.
not true any NFL player who made to the pro bowl and switched to UFC in their prime would be a big story. He's only here because he can't get a job in the NFL
Really? Any NFLer who made the pro-bowl and went to the UFC would be a "big story"? You sure?
In their prime still? 100%
lol justin tucker would be a huge story, any Big 4 athlete leaving in their prime to go to UFC would be a national story.Where are you getting this "Greg Hardy is in his prime" bullshit from? Did you see what he looked like the last time he played football? Did you watch his fights? Suggesting "prime" means anything more than "the most success he's gonna have in this sport is right now" is a joke.
And no, if Justin Tucker decided he wanted to try MMA tomorrow, it wouldn't be anywhere near the story Hardy is, because there's no highly publicized assault case attached to his name.

It's odd when people not from America are less informed about football than we are about soccer, when objectively the difference in entertainment value is laughable.
Of course any pro-bowler cage fighting would be a big deal. Especially the heavyweights.

it's a good question. would Jason Babin get to the UFC so quickly? he was an DB all pro, but few know his name.In their prime still? 100%

in his prime means if he wasn't blackballed by the NFL he would still be playing there.

I mean CM Punk is a huge story and he's not even an athlete and wasn't even in WWE for years leading up to his UFC run, not sure that guy understands popularity of NFL in the US
