Weatherman's Lifehack for Defrosting Car Windows

You live up near there, I know. You’ve mentioned it a few times.

I’m close.

Closer than you think.

I’m under your bed.
Took my son up to Orroville to the lineman school a few years ago. Really scenic, but I’ve never seen more tweakers in one place in my life.
Drive up to Chico, and I didn’t see any. Trying to figure that one out, someone told me Chico PD drops all there’s off down in Orroville.

I doubt that’s the case. Chico is full of college students and hippies who love weed and do shit like ferment their own liquor. Oroville is just white trash on meth who have no hope.

Meh, you give it a scrape, put the defrost on high, and then by the time you punch it on the highway the shit has melted.

Yeah man, this has been known in the great white north for decades. Good tip for them Michigan folk who have politicians trying to pass rules that you can't idle your car for more than a few minutes...

Chemistry question. This thread is about isopropyl alcohol, aka rubbing alcohol. I went into a Rite Aid once and next to the Isopropyl they had Pure Ethyl alcohol. It was in the same kinda plastic bottle and didn't state that it was methylated.

Ethyl is the get you drunk kind. Anyone ever see Ethyl sold in the pharmacy section?

He had his grad ceremony in Paradise, when I saw what the fire did up there it blew my mind. Schorched earth up there, not sure if they’ll ever rebuild that town.

I scrape the frost off with my hands, like a Man should.

Ice on windshields?? LOL guess global warming is taking a long time.

amidoingitrite?

I like how low budget production tend to not cut right after the video suppose to end and leave an awkward moment when the video finishes.

Interesting. My life hack for when this situation comes up thus far has been to put the heat dials cranked all the way up & in the defrost setting upon exiting the car in preparation, then use a remote starter 10 minutes before I’m ready to leave. I will give this a try though, & report back.
I had a smart ass comment about turning on the defroster ready, but @Peteyandjia already handled it, so I’m out.

Is a pitcher of warm water too hard for people? Or too easy?

Apparently this has gone viral. So simple: 2/3 Rubbing Alcohol and 1/3 Cold Water Solution. Hope some of our cold weather brethren who hate the ice scrapers might find this useful. I imagine it's old news to a bunch of you, but you never know.

Great find Madmick!

I remember traveling to Barona casino 4 years ago and outside the cars were all covered with Ice on the windshields, we had to try and scrap it off it was freezing cold, the woman next to us decided to come back with hot water from the casino and throw it on the window of her car and the windshield cracked

She tried to blame the casino for letting her get hot water from the coffee maker, nobody advised her to use that she just asked can I get some hot water they said sure, they had no clue she was going to use it to throw on the car window, they never told her to throw it on her car window but yet she was threatening to sue and wanted to call the news smh

I'm going to bring this simple solution with me this week im traveling out there with family again good looking out.

Remote start is life

Fuck the old school scraping days.

By the time I get in my truck everything is warm and toasty

You can also lay a blanket over it during the night

Don't you poor fucks have remote starters?

Walmart has been selling this stuff in spray bottles and aerosol cans for at least the last 20 years. $2 will last you most of winter. I only use it when the ice is super thick and hard or when I'm late for work and don't have time to scrape the shit off.
Why didn't you tell me this?

I'm getting pretty tired of your shit.
