His performance vs Jones aside, the best win is definitely Glover.

The Brazilian is tough as nails and only lost to top LHW fighters (Jones, Rumble, Davis, Gus) in the UFC. He has beaten everyone else.

With that said, people seem to think that Jones changed Shoguns career, and there might be some truth to it... However, he actually had 3 good fights behind him coming in to the fight w/ Gus. KO wins over both Griffin and Vera + a FOTY with Hendo. So that was a very good win for Gus too, at that stage of his career.

Gus caught a kick and got a leg sweep takedown, got the better of the clinch with Jon dropping to his knees at one point, landed some counter shots with Jon going forward and generally was ahead in the boxing department.

Jon mostly had a high volume of leg kicks. His highlights were landing a hard body kick and two head kicks.

After seeing the fight again a lot of stuff which I thought landed during seeing it previously didn't seem to land that hard - like some of Gus' punches over the top and most of Jon's spinning kicks.

Gus did not complete the leg sweep take down, not even close. It didn't factor into the round at all.

The most significant strike of the round was a high kick Jones landed, and Jones landed more strikes while also being the aggressor and coming forward the whole time.

his legacy is interesting. he fought the two best lhws ever and gave them absolute hell and fared better than anyone else had against them outside of each other. Its hard to reward for that, but if you are a real fan and student of this sport, Gus has a special place in the pantheon of 205b fighters.

his lack of titles and shallowness of the division don´t add up, but inside the octagon he proved to be awesome

imho he has all the atributes but the mental game is not his best weapon. he could have won the jones fight but he faded

Gus should step up and replace JDS against Ngannou. He's bigger than Jones but no one, especially his dick riders, ever seem to accuse him of ducking HW's.

Jones got suspended for a year and still has more wins in the last 2 years than Gus does.
