What is the most painful submission hold?

One word! Knee-bar!
It hurts just thinking about the leg bending the wrong way.
I always tap really quick on kneebars because of fear.

No man, a straight leg lace kne bar has got to be the worst thing ever. I took one from a roll much like Spencer Fisher did to Sam Stout, the guy rolled insanly fast and I smashed my face of the ground. Had a broken nose and a torn miniscus. That was fun.

bicep/calf slicers. and neck cranks/can openers

I am currently limping around because of a heelhook. And let me say, they really aren't that painful. Horribly dangerous yes, but painful not really until your knee is coming apart.

For sheer pain, you gotta go with a crushing sub --- bicep/calf/achilles.

Spine and groin locks hurt like a total bitch too.

I try to tap when I know its going to be locked in, but some jerks are so fast and elusive that you can't tell. Calf Slicer ftw

heel hook. easily the most painful and dangerous mma submission hold there is with the possible exception of the twister/back brace.

the gym where i train if anyone performs a heel hook they are out the door neve to come back, its a career ending move when applied correctly, can blow the knee cap and cause a spiral fracture up the shin. very nasty.
most non-choking submissions can be career ending moves if you crank them.

everyone in my school goes for heelhooks, but slowly and carefully.

Ok, let me get this out of the way first, every submission hold hurts. I've been put in pretty much all of them and vice versa in my grappling class. But in my opinion, the one that would have to hurt the most is the heel hook. A close second is probably the kimura.

The thing with the heel hook is that it requires the least amount of pressure for it to hurt. I don't know if anyone here has been caught in it, but you get a tingling feeling in your heel/ankle that general area that feels like it's about to rip apart.

What are your two cents in regards to the most painful submission hold ?

The one where you don't tap.

Man when i was in wrestling ppl did that all the time in practice

An adductive wristlock, otherwise known as nikyu to Aikido and Aiki-jitsu practitioners.

Dohhh shit. Boston Crab. Yes a guy got me into one.:icon_lol: I saw my life before me.

Calf/bicep slicer hurt the worst. Cattle catcher aka crucifix neck crank gets honorable mention, because it's painful AND you feel totally helpless. Nothing like knowing the other guy can break your neck just cuz he feels like it if he doesn't stop when you tap. Guys at my gym HATE when I do that one, since once I get the position I go niiiiiice and sloooooow. They almost never manage to get out, and they have time to see their life flash before their eyes before I make them tap.

i know the most painful its called the bicep slicer look it up. Dead serious worst pain every and dosnt take any effort for the guy who does it, its an easy variation to when you have sombody in the armbar from mount and you go for the armbar the oppent grabs his other arm to prevent the armbar.
