What's more fundamental to success in Kickboxing/MT- Boxing or Kicking?

The wka and wako who seem to be the main orgs in American style kickboxing both still have a minimum kick rule.
Bearing in mind that the skill level in the style was pretty low and that kicks above waist doesn't allow for much inside game beyond punching, that yes, a world class boxer could have stood a good chance of a ko.

You can't win with low kicks if the boxer has his legs conditioned. The best thai guys are half the size of western boxers. You think they would get the better of them in a clinch?

I would say proper understanding of distancing also gets the job done, and this can definately be part of a natural talent for boxing.

Also, I challenge you to cut angles and distance against a demon kicker. It just isn't possible if you don't kick his ass back.
Yeah i agree distance is the most important but if you combine that with high mobility its a great combo. I can kick, but what do you mean by demon kicker? Sounds cool.

What? Who?

Veraphol Sahaprom, Pornsawan Kiatpramuk, Denkaosaen Kaowichit, Sirimongkon Singmanasak, Jomthong Chuwattana, Pichitnoi Sitbangprachan, Muangchai Kittikasem, Chatchai Sasakun.

You can't even tell most of those compete in boxing when you see them fight muay thai.

So a spinning back kick?
Naw you need the demon gene from generations. Got to throw your kid off a mountain, let him make a contract with teh devil, and then its all good after.

You see when he throws the kick there's a red smoke cloud. Yeah without dat dere demon, it won't happen

Because they don't use it. Your point is null, until they try punching the Western boxing way in the thai ring

yes, they would be more successful if they just boxed in muay thai. stupid thais. don't want to win.

can't even tell if you're a retard or just a troll at this point.

You don't even know what I said. I said they never tried to box with Western boxing mechanics, using the bladed stance. Some, like Samart Payakaroon, however, did and still won muay thai fights.

it doesn't work for them, that's why they don't use it.

We don't know that. Boxers who tried out K1 as a start failed to adequately condition their legs for low kicks. The fight didn't even begin before their legs gave out.

Lol hes talking about proper raja and lumpinee fighters.... educate yourself before you act like a tool. k1 is kickboxing not MT. silly kid.

Of course you can win with low kicks, do you think pro kickboxers and MT fighters never lose through the use of low kicks? Think how long they have been conditioning their shins? Keep in mind there are multiple effective techniques to neutralise punchers such as the teep/pushkick and the straight knee.
Regarding the clinch, go to Thailand and you will regularly see thais throwing westerners twice their size around like rag dolls.
