As far as Shapiro, I read half of his book on pornography and found it basically juvenile. If anyone can direct me to the great works of Shapiro I'll be happy to check it out. But basically he's just another political pundit with a quick mind and an even quicker tongue. Watch a few hours of Shapiro on youtube and you basically know exactly what he's going to say on any given topic. As far as I know he's not exactly highly educated on any particular topic besides law. I consider him a wasted mind. I have no doubt he could of excelled in almost any field he could choose, instead he hosts a shitty podcast and website that whinges and whines about anything and everything in regards to mainstream social topics.

I don't see how being a step or two below other entry-level intellectuals is a compliment. He is smart because he found an audience, I will give him that. He is above Alex Jones and below Sam Harris. LoL.

Yeah, it wasn't really a compliment. I like some of what he puts out there, but he's not spectacular.

Like most people who have graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School at 23 years old his intellectual processing power is obviously very high.

Nevertheless he has some very strong biases and a few intellectual blind spots (e.g. religion) that prevent him from achieving his full potential

would love to see a debate with him and sam harris whom i consider to be a little over rated and wishey washy. but i have a ton of respect for. the host would have to really make sure to keep things in order and on focus and moving because i dont think either guy would make many firm stances and budge. topics would have to be pretty specific cause harris can get pretty vague and broad with stuff. but hes a pretty smart and well spoken dude with a quick wit and has found a comfortable spot where he can work and make plenty of money. i guess i respect shapiro for his conviction and entertainment factor despite the position.

I got about halfway through that Current Affairs article. I'm not a big fan of Shapiro, but it's heavily misrepresenting Shapiro's arguments, and in a cruel twist of irony, "debunking" them with sources that have just as much bias as Shapiro is being accused of using.

I read the article he wrote calling for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, even if some of the claims aren't bullet proof he has indicted himself with his own words. Pretty clearly a garbage human being who's reputation is built off of embarrassing college students.

Yeah, I don't like him. There is plenty to criticize, the article I quoted just did a poor job of it.
