Guys like Hogan and Flair can point to their title runs with legit pride because they were the wrestling business. They got the championship by being bigger draws than anyone else and were paid accordingly.
After 2001, forget it. Belts are just props. Most champions don't make any extra cash for being the champion. It's just a piece of hardware to carry through the airport. No bragging rights other than "I showed up every day" or "My father-in-law owns the company"
