Now that Aretha Franklin has died. I thought I'd make a poll to see who's the greatest female vocalist of all time.

This poll will only have singers that I think are must to be on the poll. The rest of the poll will be filled out by your suggestions and the popularity of those suggestions.
No Jill Scott, so list is fraud.

Sorry who?
One of the greatest female vocalist of any genre. Recognized and lauded as one of the best by everyone from country to opera singers.

Ya know, the woman who charted MULTIPLE times in no less than SEVENTEEN Billboard categories.

Alright, you convinced me. You want her on the poll?

Yes.

Can i get my vote reset? lol

I like Shirley Manson from Garbage and the Cardigans singer.

Aretha could sing through a brick wall with depth, soul and power.
The others ain't even close.

From a technical point of view, it's going to be difficult to beat these four outside opera singers:
  1. Whitney Houston
  2. Mariah Carey
  3. Adele
  4. Celine Dion
Europeans will probably get upset singers like Edith Piaf aren't included.

But Amy Winehouse is my favorite from the poll, so I voted for her.

Dionne Warrwick had an amazing voice, as had Karen Carpenter.
I also love Wynonna Judd, Kate Bush and Joan Armatrading

My preferred showcase for her, though, is "My Special Child."

And then, unless I missed it, Natalie Merchant has somehow gone unmentioned.
