Ann Wilson and Stevie Nicks

Dionne Warrwick had an amazing voice, as had Karen Carpenter.
I also love Wynonna Judd, Kate Bush and Joan Armatrading

Always been a fan of Dionne Warwick, she's my favourite out of the old school singers. Kate Bush is awesome as well.

Karen Carpenter. I'd also take Linda Ronstadt or Hope Sandoval over anyone on that list.

That's tough, because different voices work best with different styles.

Ann Wilson for rock, Chrissy Hynde and Pat Benetar close behind, Dee Dee from the Dum Dum Girls is a great successor to Ann.

For a soothing lullaby classical voice it'd probably be some middle aged Irish lady.

Soul and r&b I think it's probably Anita Baker.

Pop Whitney Houston.

Gotta go with Whitney for pure vocal ability. But Celine Dion is up there too.

Anybody voting for Mariah Carey, you're wrong. She CAN sing, but just being able to hit high octaves without making the listener feel any emotion, or without it even really sounding good....that's just kind of a vocal trick. Whitney made you FEEL wtf she was singing about, and so did Celine.

And I've never even heard of Ann Wilson but she's in strong second place in the poll. Who is she?

Lzzy Hale wants in, too.

Currently: Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine

Previously: Sinead O'Connor

Such an angry performance and the note hold at 3 minutes gives me chills.

P4P: Delores from the Cranberries. RIP...

I've always had a soft spot for Mariah, but Ann wilson for me.

tbh I haven't listened to many of these but I was always really impressed by Ann Wilson. Heart were such a great band

She had some charisma to her live too. She stole my heart (no pun) with this performance. Age is a motherfucker though. I try to pretend she never aged past this.

Wow I didn’t think Ann Wilson would get this much love.

She’s a powerhouse fo sho.

Holy shit. Thanks for sharing that.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone lose themselves in a performance like that before.

Sinead was looking fucking gorgeous there, too.

Where the fuck is Alanis Morisette?

No mention of Tracey Chapman or Annie Lennox either. Fail.

Also, Cheese and Agent Mulder's Hair got hit with the bammer? Whoa.

Minnie Ripperton in terms of voice. Shot Billie Holliday in terms of emotive power.
