Why are actors in action films so old?

has anyone seen the Russian like literal shot for shot remake of Commando? called D Day

it's glorious, and I believe it was made specifically to shit on the current lame action fad

name recognition = safer marketing = more backing from producers

Almost a great action movie should start with the protagonist rolling out of bed to swig a bottle of whiskey in a trashy apartment so you know he's been through some shit. It's more effective if the character is 35-45 years old

The kid from American Utlra Violence and Scott Vs the World and The Zombie Movies has been killing it those action movies.

And the little girl in Kick Ass.

The only good film with the rock was the one with stiffler. The others suck

Serious answer:
It's the same reason Hollywood keeps cranking out sequels and comic book movies: no one wants to risk money on new IP or unproven talent

Nobody is Alpha like those guys. Watch the on-set interviews from Predator. Those guys were in an good natured alpha male pissing contest for the entirety of the film shoot. They still are, pretty much.

And then we have Chris Pratt. Nagga pleez. He couldn't hold a cup of Stallone's piss.

I just said piss twice

They've developed a following. A lot of people will see movies for an actor. This is nothing new. Check out John Wayne and Charles Bronson movies.

They should do a remake of the Brian Bosworth classic (yes, f'n classic) Stone Cold.....

he had a pet iguana for some reason in that movie, not quite as random as Marion 'Cobra' Cobretti cutting pizza w/ scissors, but pretty damn random.

Also, Lance Henrikson was a seriously underrated villain

just look up the YT channel Rossatron, he has mad great videos on this exact topic (it's basically an Action Movie analysis/critique channel)

like how many of yall forgot how legit the movie Rapid Fire w/ Brandon Lee was?
while it didn't contain the 'you have to right to be dead' line from Showdown in Little Tokyo, it also didn't contain all the homoeroticness either, so tough call hahahahah

The average American is almost 40 years old. That's why actors seem older than they did in the 1960s-1980s.

Because 80s were when badassery was worshipped

Wich fit action movies style

Post 2000 you need jokes, self irony and funny lines

Except these guys did it better inn the 80s too
