Why did Cormier speak after the fight?

I was at the fight in Anaheim. After Cormier was knocked out and was helped up he was visibly wobbling. He tried to leave the cage several times but was physically stopped by UFC employees. He was in bad shape and just wanted to leave. Wtf ufc? Rogan should not be blamed for anything. Cormier getting interviewed post fight was something obviously planned by the UFC.
