Why doesnt UFC target other HW athletes from other combat sports?

I get that getting top boxers is not realistic, but why not top wrestlers, judokas, kickboxers, sambo guys. Why are we stuck with the likes of ngannou and black beast as top contenders and guys from 7+ years ago.

PRIDE brought in Mark Hunt, Cro Cop from K-1 , got top sambo guys like Aleksander Emelianenko and Fedor etc and even sergei was decent in the amateur boxing scene in russia.

Its not like the athletes in those sports are raking in huge millions or something and cant be enticed. I honestly think the UFC just doesn't care.

Why arent they signing Blagoy Ivanov?

The UFC doesn't care to invest in these athletes, they'll just sign ones that will work for cheap and tell you that they're the best in the world..... and most of the idiots on Sherdog (and the casuals) will believe it because they're too stupid to know better.

HW suffers from this shit the most. The other weight classes arent nearly as full of it in terms of their athleticism to weight class ratio. At least the guys in the lower weight classes are in excellent shape.

Its the same with Saki they hired him but he fights fighters way out of the rankings, its a weak Division now why not give him a top Opponent make it a big fight, put him against a Striker like Manuwa or Oezdemir and go from there.

HW division was never stacked, even in PRIDE. Always filled with 3-5 top guys and big galoots. The HW division right now is getting close to being pretty good especially if Cain comes back. You take out all those Japanese cans from PRIDE and lots of those old school guys have losing records.

The HW division overall isn't that bad right now. The HW division in the UFC however is terrible.


Signing Minakov, Ivanov, Goltsov, Aliakbari, Pavlovich, Kharitonov, Andryszak, etc. would make it a far improved division, perhaps even one of the better divisions.
