why haven't we seized this opportunity yet with the Grand Canyon ?

Needs a giant slide from the top to bottom of the canyon.

So many epic trails there I need to visit again soon, maybe stop by the secret beef jerky spot also

How far is it from the nearest sewage plant, water supply, electricity?

Here, there are some mountaintops not far from the city and sometimes I wonder what's stopping some rich people from buying and building some high rises there. There are some with houses, but they don't go much further than half way up.

Listen i never said it would be easy for this theoretical idea,it would be beyond difficult to pull off and very expensive but its interesting to muse on. It is not impossible.
you don't have to lower things down from the edge. obviously you would build a road through the entire canyon with many bridge crossings for beauty and sightseeing for the cars. then you could have a ton of people who cant/wont hike get access to the beauty of the place on the way to the casinos and stuff. it would be a scenic byway.

these guys are not thinking creatively.

@Copper Burner

Because haven't we fucked nature up enough? Also having g a City in a Canyon doesn't seem very smart just on a flooding perspective ...... then agsin it doesn't rain much in Arizona

Agreed.

Make it a haven for the undocumented migrants who are looking for a better life.

That has to be a fake Walmart. I don't see any supersized people out front.

I like the idea, sort of, with development within the grand canyon. Then again it would take away from the beauty of the park.

Tbh, Mount Rushmore is way more cooler than the Grand Canyon. This is just a big, stupid hole in the ground.

Mount Rushmore on the other hand is one of the most beautiful natural rock formations on the planet. I hope to go back someday.

Because the Smithsonian has it blacked off to hide the proof of ancient alien visitors that exists on the many secret cave walls down there near the bottom
Duh!

No, its cause theres a tunnel to other parts of earth, ancient egyptians had a city there!
