Why is every HW ducking Jones?

If Jones is the same size as every HW because of his height and reach, why are all the Heavyweights scared to cut down to 205 and fight him? Is it maybe because Jones is a LHW and Heavyweights are Heavyweights? Why doesn't Jones move up in weight like other fighters have?

Is it maybe because the jump from 205 to HW is 60 pounds instead of 20 (max)? Who could beat Jones at 225?

Not a troll thread, just trying to use irony after rolling my eyes at so many weak threads. If Jones wants to move up to HW for a superfight, all power to him. Whether it's the big money fight with Brock or a fight with Stipe to be the GOAT (and he'd have to defend after that), cool. But being the best LHW of all time is enough to be one of the all-time greats, particularly with the weight difference between LHW and HW.

And, to reiterate the first point, if Bones' walking-around weight is so big he could take on any HW, logic dictates that they should be able to cut down to 205 to take him on.

Flame away.
Is TS actually serious? Why would a Heavyweight want to cut weight for an inferior belt when they can eat what they want, not have to deal with cutting weight and losing strength. The HW belt will always be more prestigious than the LHW belt.

Jones can chose to not cut weight eat what he wants and fight at HW not the other way around. Im still trying to figure out if TS is trolling or just a total moron.

LOL like Cain has ever been less than 20% body fat in his life.

Cormier barely makes it and he is 3"shorter.
Rumble has weighed 235 between fights while still looking leaner than Cain, so has Glover and they're both as tall or taller, I really think some of the smaller HWs just don't have any desire to even try to make LHW. Not that they should since HW IS more prestigious!

So every HW who isn't Stipe or on the cusp of beating him would rather eat delicious food and avoid the sauna than be the first person to (really) beat Jon Jones and win a UFC belt? Agree to disagree on this one.

Why cut weight to fight someone who will just pop for roids or crash into a preggo chick?

To get your show and win money without having to fight? Well played though, definitely a lot of reasons not to respect Jones that can't really be argued with.

So the onus is on Werdum and Cain to get less soft so they can get to 205. Don't see how their choice to stay soft is Jones' problem.

So which fighters would you say is the softest one?? and does it feel compared to let's say cotton

If they want a supposedly easy fight as many claim it would be on here with jones vs the heavies, then yes they can come down. Randy, Vera and many others have come down to 205 to challenge champions.

It is a two way street, Jones can come up and oblige the Heavies or the heavies can come down and oblige the LHWs. Miocic can come down if he really wants to be a two weight champion. You want to be a two weight champion, then you put in work, some of you expect the lower weights to put in all the work.

Exactly what I was trying to say, probably more eloquently put. I don't think Stipe could get to 205, though, and with the HW belt there's no reason for him to do a catchweight fight.

What does a heavyweight have to gain by fighting Jon Jones, if they win it will be "of course they won because they are bigger", if they lose, they got beat by a LHW. the Lesnar fight is the only one that makes sense, there will be big money there and neither Jones or Lesnar loses anything by losing, Jones is still the LHW and his position and legacy in the sport isnt diminished and if Lesnar loses, he doesn't have any standing to lose...

To be clear, I'm talking about a fight at 205 for the belt, because a lot of Sherdog seems to think that Jones is the same size as HWs. My point is that if HWs could cut down to fight Jones, they would, like Rashad/Randy/DC and others have done before, so Jones isn't actually the same size as HWs. I agree there's no upside for HWs in fighting Jones at HW, for the reasons you mentioned.

I am taller and lankier than Mike Tyson. He ducked me because of my size <45>

By cutting down and beating jones, they would be close/similar in weight and physical size as jones, which would negate any bigger advantage view some people possibly had at HW. It would be seen as a real victory over jones because of the similar weight, which would showcase skills over strength.

They would also get a belt and beating the best LHW in the UFC would push their resume through the roof. Heavies would get a lot by beating jones, the problem is they may have to actually do work to get it and come down.

i think jones could go up but the heavies, if they want this supposedly easy belt, they can come down.

...all of the top-10 selling PPVs in UFC history have had Conor, Brock, or Ronda on the card, and he won't be able to get a fight with Conor or Ronda...

Then logic also dictates that Jones should cut about the same weight that you want HW's to cut, then he could fight Conor at 170 for the big $$$. After that fight, a sex change operation could get him a fight with Ronda, probably also at 170 if she can make it.

Where's the outcry for Gus to move up to HW?

He has "advantages" too.

Jones is terrified of HW.

Just deal with it.
