This would only help fans get to know who to pay attention to when there's a live card.

What would stop them from showing some old ESPN Deportes bouts?

My guess is they(Spike/Paramount/Viacom) don't believe the investment would be worth the money vs ratings vs whatever 413th replay of Cops episode or a 5 year old movie will pull in. If they ever felt like it would be worth it they would've done it. They seem to take the approach of sign names to bring people in and do very little beyond that to advertising the product. Which is probably why a lot of viewers of the UFC viewers don't tune into even a good Bellator card. Chances are they don't even know its going on most of the time.

They had one and the ratings tanked, Bellator 360, they are trying to build up Paramount Network as a big channel, when Spike had the UFC they basically showed two seasons of TUF with finales, at most 4 other free fights on Spike and eventually an hour of preliminary fights on PPVs, the market wasn't full, Spike could air Countdowns & Unleashed etc and the fans could only get that stuff on Spike.

UFC on Fox Sports doesn't do big ratings outside live sporting events, so can air all the other stuff the UFC puts out.
