First they make poisons. They make disruptors. We get the poison and figure out how to make it disrupt what is attacking us and making us sick. Also, I think most drugs that come from drug disrupt part of your brain.

The most vital parts of plants like leaves tend to have the most poison.

They make poisons that affect mammals but not birds IF birds are better distributors. And yes, we all know fruits are sweet to entice us to spread the seed.

Thorns are often used to cut off access from one type of fruit eater while leaving the path open for better fruit spreaders.
