WMMA on TUF was the true FOTN

It reminded me a lot of the Sarah Kaufman vs. Leslie Smith fight at Invicta 5. The difference being maybe 5k saw that fight based on the ippv buys. While this happened in UFC and probably over a million saw it when the DVR numbers come in.

So it was one of the most important fights ever for WMMA.

Oh, and you realize how scary Pennington can be. She is just figuring it out and has sick power and a granite chin. I think you saw two future top 5 fighters tonight.

I can't believe how many flush knees she took. I really thought it was a matter of time till she dropped, and it looked like she flash dropped once and instantly was back.

The one that won FOTN.

You may disagree with this, but I always prefer high level MMA over an inferior product, and whether fans want to admit it or not, the best WMMArtists will always be inferior to their male counterparts. Now before you jump down my throat, note that I said "the best." If every fight tonight looked like Beltran/Fabio or Thiago/Hamill, I would gladly give Duke and Pennington the award because it was both entertaining and the most skilled.

I can understand that. So, there was ONE male fight that can compete. My point still stands. I personally preferred the WMMA fight.

I went overboard with the "lol no" comment. I retract it.

WMMA is a relatively undeveloped level of competition. It's newer than most division and it is just now under the spotlight. I would say the same about the weight classes under Featherweight that I know you love so much. Frankly, the divisions are not fleshed out like the rest of them are and you get sloppy fights

Of course they look sloppy because of how good the more developed division look. If you look at the women today compared to any of the men's divisions in 2003, I would say they look pretty similar.

There is nothing sloppy about Demetrious Johnson or Renan Barao. Now compare them to the top fighters in WMMA. Women will simply never be as good as men. You can still enjoy it, but don't try to act like it's something it's not or ever will be.

I think the lighterweight male divisions have more skill than WMMA. But mostly due to men competing longer, so many of the lighter men have been competing, just at higher weightclasses. WMMA is much newer, give it 10 years to flesh out, with it hopefully getting better each and every year.

That was the year guys like Hughes, Nog, Fedor, Penn, etc were tearing shit up. None of these chicks are anywhere near their level, even the most elite WMMArtists. Meisha Tate is a worse version of Bryan Caraway and she's the top 2-3 girl at 135.

I think between Tate, Kaufman, Davis, and McMann that Kaufman would still trump Tate if they rematch. The other three would be tied.

Spot on. 100% agree with you.

Great fight but invicta has better fights all the time.

Don't both with this guy, if the girls arent under 18 he aint watching.

Miesha isn't top 2 or 3, idiots. Where is she ranked #2 ?

Here are four different ranking systems for women.

It is a pretty long set of lists so I put then in spoiler tags.
