Being part of the the 5th biggest economy is more beneficial than a debt ridden Ireland who can't crack top 30. Ireland themselves rely a lot on UK with regards to trade.

Northern Ireland is also a drain, a net loss for Britain. They're dependant on handouts and funds coming from Britain and produce little of value.
So imagine how much of a liability they'll be on an already struggling Ireland.

It's good for Northern Ireland that wealthy Britain is keeping them afloat, but it's not good for Britain. Ireland can barely sustain themselves so they won't be able to manage N.Ireland.
The current situation is best. No border with free movement between the states like it's one and N.Ireland leeching of Britain.
