Would the Crossface Chicken Wing be an effective submission hold in MMA?

I can't see how anyone could escape this at all if the guy doing it locks his hands together and grapevines the legs or waist.

Bob Backlund made the hold famous but here is Antonio Cesaro applying it perfectly.

I know pro wrestling is not real but this hold could legit injure someone.

Any thoughts on this?

Of course, it's SAKU's finisher.

Omo plata seems to be most common form of chicken wing that has finished opponents.

Ask Imanari? Or Dan Severn, who actually suplexed a guy and then finished him with a cross-face chicken wing. Shoulders and necks are not made to be reefed on by people wishing to do you vast bodily harm.

Prime Bob Backlund would be UFC HW champ with a six week camp!

Well, he was one heckuva amateur wrestler. And he was versed in submissions as you can see from his work in the UWF. So he has that going for him.
