Gotta admit, I stopped watching in 2003 so I'm not familiar with any Rumble after the fact, but God damn, there was some great rumbles.

Mine was the 1994 rumble. After Undertaker gets savaged by like 10 wrestlers Yokozuna set on him, then the rumble came. Diesel eliminated like 10 wrestlers, he was just standing there waiting for another one to come in.

Then the end with Hart and Luger both going out at the same time, and there being that debate with the two different referees backing one over the other.

I'll always remember that one. RR 2000 was great as well.

lol @ not even allowing a vote for the modern era. Get off the internet grampa.

I'm 27, if that's old, so be it. And, there's only ten options for a poll.

98 probably because i had it on tape for Christmas when it came out and watched it so many times over the years.

You one of the fruits from the nation?

You are going to have to explain this question further if you want a real answer. I can't imagine any scenario id label myself a "fruit" though.

@TCE, I'm surprised your only 27. Most ppl who grobble over the 80s and early 90s are deep into their 30s or 40+. You should have either started your poll in the opposite direction or chosen 10 specific dates that were stand outs.

I find the RR to be a chaotic and overall boring match up until after the last person has come out. It's difficult for any move to be performed other than punch/chop or leg presses to the body in the corner.. Or hang on to the ropes while someone makes a turd effort to push u through them.. Hopefully some of the more talented stars like the Luchas/usos/harper/Rowan/new day/etc will make it more entertaining this year.

Hopefully we will get to see a good showdown between stowman and big show somewhere within the match. And hopefully their isn't too many lame people entering like Old NWO/DX members or lame jobbers who have no chance at winning.

1999

More theatre than match but I just loved the whole Austin going through hell with the final 1 on 1 showdown as Vince is still on commentary

I'm voting 1992. It may have been my first Rumble and it was also one of the first wrestling PPVs I ever watched. On top of everything else it also made me a Flair fan for life.

The Austin/Bret one. 96? I don't know. All I know is that I won the pool my hockey team was running. I was the only guy to pick Austin, and his dastardly tricks won me $200. It was also cool seeing him get so bored with eliminating people, that he sat on the top turnbuckle looking at his imaginary watch. His face when Bret comes down is priceless too.

The Flair one is classic too. Worth watching just for Heenen's commentary.

2001 had a pretty stacked lineup.

Not sure what year exactly, I think 2004? But the one Benoit won I think may have been the best. The one Brock won was pretty badass as well, I remember he F5'd someone over the top rope to eliminate them (Matt Hardy I think) and the last 4 guys were Brock, Taker, Kane and Batista I believe. Haven't seen any of the recent ones, but I'm pretty sure the later ones are better than the really old ones. The one that Nature Boy won was pretty good though, it was cool watching the old man survive through all that and he got the belt when it was all done. The one where Austin won after getting eliminated by Hitman was also cool. I think the concept of the Royal Rumble match might be one of the best ideas they ever came up with.

Austin cheating to win was 1997, but those were the first two I thought of too.

2001 was awesome too, with the several minutes where it went "hardcore," Kane's then record 13 eliminations, etc.

2002.

-Absolutely stacked roster that at least 5-6 guys had a solid chance of winning
-Biker Taker destroying Maven after being eliminated
-Godfather retuning and going to the back 2 additional times to get more escorts
-Austin getting "what?" chants for every punch/kick
-Austin eliminating Christian, then going under the bottom rope to bring him back into the ring for another stunner
-Hurricane trying to hit a double chokeslam on Austin/Trips and them laughing at him
-Austin being alone in the ring when Trips music hit
-Kane/Big Show's showdown and Kane body slamming Show over the top rope
-Mr. Perfect
-Austin's pop literally shaking the hard camera
-Biased because I was there marking like hell in my Kurt Angle shirt as he came down to the final 2.

95...was at the Sun Dome for that one and at the time I think I was one of the maybe five people in the building who popped for Michaels skinning the cat for the surprise win.

2004 Rumble with benoit winning was pretty awesome in setup for mania that year.
Foley had his run in with orton
Undertakers music played with Kane in their
Lesnar ran in and distracted Goldberg
