Since YouTube has gone down the crapper in the past year, do you think we will see a true challenger to their platform in the foreseeable future?

As far as I know Daily Motion is all there is but YouTube is still king of that hill by a long shot.

A few months back there was rumors that Amazon was going to come out with a video platform to rival YouTube but it has been crickets since then.

Pornhub. Already has the better content.

What if pornhub slowly started adding non-porn content until it basically became a new YouTube before overhauling its brand?

That would be a smart play and enable a competitive relationship with YouTube.

Unironically, crypto will save us.

There already exists blockchain social media (with million of users) that actually PAY YOU to interact (vote/like/upload) with the site. It's called Steemit.

Saw an ICO that promises to use the same premise and pay users and creators for watching videos. Can be done.

It's mindblowing that people actually use Facebook or YT for free considering they are selling ads worth of billions based of your personal data.

Anyone who still sees ads should reevaluate their internet experience. I don't think I've seen an ad in 10 years.

Going to call bullshit on that. I use uBlock Origin with extended script library, ghost, and noscript add-ons and have few news-sites manually configurated at my hosts file and i STILL see ads every now and then on some sites. (Instagram comes to mind first-hand)

Word is that gun videos are moving to pornhub since YouTube has made it clear now that they don't want anymore gun videos.

I have actually never heard of steemit and have no clue what it is or how it works.

Hmmm, well I don't go to news sites because they are liars and I don't use Instagram because fuck Instagram. For what I do and where I go, there are no ads. In fact, I can't believe how many people I encounter that fucking don't even know what Adblock is. I called a friend a troglodyte because he didn't have it and he didn't even know what it was. There is no reason to be looking at ads on the internet. At the very least you should be able to eradicate 99% of them.

How does one go into a store and buy groceries with steem?

By getting a crypto debit card. You know how you can pay with your local credit card in foreign countries? it automatically converts.

Besides, Steem isn't geared to be a cryptoprocessor just for paying things.

Is it easy to get a crypto debit card? Is is taken almost anywhere goods are sold? Do you use steemit and make money there?

i liked vimeo more cuz they werent copywrite nazis
then after like 4 years they suddenly deleted my entire page. all videos gone.
fuck vimeo

It's funny because they are. Adding non-pron, not necessarily overhauling it's brand though.

1) Yes, you order it online
2) It is accepted everywhere where VISA or Mastercard is. I heard a lot of places in USA still use paper checks and don't accept cards, so I don't know about USA, but in Europe and most 3rd world countries you will be fine.
3) No, I don't use it anymore. I have made like $500 off it. It's extremely time consuming (the platform)

I don't care for Steem or Steemit for that matter, I'm just saying that a YT replacement will come, in a world where people get paid to participate. It's a no-contest for Youtube that does the opposite .

When you say they've "gone down the crapper"are you talking about the anti-PC, anti-Illuminati type channel, as well as general censorship that are being demonetized?

Personally, I think a lot of the channels should have a link to their website where they can say what they want for who knows how long. Eventually Google will shut down everything that isn't PC.

It is probably more important to have a search engine now affiliated with Google that owns what? 98% of that industry?

Bring back Netscape!
