ZMA side effects

Anyone know if there are serious side effects to taking ZMA as a sleep aid?

In particular, does it develop a dependency similar to sleeping pills?

Too much zinc is toxic. Follow the instructions on the label and it'll be fine. No serious side effects to my knowledge.

I agree with the person on top of me. If you take too much Zinc you can probably die or something. I say moderation is the key to ZMA.

ZMA is not a sedative, it will not help you fall asleep. Which is what most people develop dependencies to, an aid to fall asleep.

Improving sleep function and "falling asleep easier" are two completely different things. Alcohol can act as a sedative but it decreases overall sleep quality.
