How is this possible? How can an adult believe this shit?
People who believe this type of thing should be thrown in prison for being a menace to society.
Evolution is a FACT! Get over it and accept the truth.
This should be huge news on the news channels but it won't even get mentioned. Why do people not believe this type of belief is dangerous in society?

The thing he says about the eye just happening BAM! What an idiot!
The way he refers to it as 'the theory' as if thats supposed to place it in a bad light. 'Scientific theory' means something entirely different than the meaning of 'theory' that most of us are familiar with.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_theory

It's like he is reading all this from a book published 100yrs ago, things have moved on Carson, get up to date with science.
He is typical of believers. 'What was that, you don't understand why such and such happened?' 'Well that obviously means everything you've ever said is nonsense then.'
'If you don't know the answers to EVERYTHING then evolution is crap!'

Believing in evolution through natural selection, and believing humans did not evolve from mud are not mutually exclusive positions.

Well he's right about Evolution...it is just a theory

Aaaaand here we go. That didn't take long.

BTW, definition of theory:

A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation.

Not “Just a Theory”

The term theory is used differently in science than it is used in everyday language. A scientific theory is a broad explanation that is widely accepted because it is supported by a great deal of evidence. Because it is so well supported, a scientific theory has a very good chance of being a correct explanation for events in nature. Because it is a broad explanation, it can explain many observations and pieces of evidence. In other words, it can help connect and make sense of many phenomena in the natural world.

And its incredibly dishonest, and see through BTW, to try and frame the discussion as evolution = science itself.

The majority of those who reject the theory of evolution have high respect and love for Science.

These are dangerous views to hold, especially for someone who wields a certain amount of influence of others.

In a perfect world, people would be prosecuted for these types of views.

Like a thought police apparatus?

Hmm, maybe we should learn from authoritarian regimes.

The Theory of Evolution cannot be demonstrated, tested for, observed, or repeated. It cannot be shown to be fact.

A lot of people believe it to be fact? OK but still just a theory.

That is a disgusting view of punishment for people who believe differently than you do. Shocking actually.

It's for the greater good, comrade.

Just goes to show you that being a doctor (especially a surgeon) is much more like being a very, very skilled craftsmen than being an actual scientist.

What's truly frightening is that this guy is #2 of the gop candidates.

Exactly. He wields influence over a certain group of people and holds views like this. Startling to say the least. Think Jonestown, this is only a few notches below. Again, in a perfect world, people who hold these views would be prosecuted, but we don't live in that world yet.

Its actually a theory.. Sorta like gravity is.

But isn't gravity observable, demonstratable, testable, and repeatable? Quite a big difference between that theory and the theory of something we can't verify or demonstrate.
