The al is way more balanced. There's probably only 3 truly terrible teams in the al(Oakland, detroilet and Chicago) meanwhile the NL has like 5 or 6 awful ass teams in the Mets, braves, Phillies, pirates, reds, Giants and Padres.

We knew going into the season that the NL would have some full tank teams - reds, Padres, Philly. SF is surprising. You could argue 3of the top 5 teams, 4 of top 6 are NL squads though
