Sad, but I think it's still harder to get russian citizenship than US citizenship. On the very least you need to speak russian, have an income and lawful behavior. Most rapefugees wouldn't be able to do it, while former soviets would.

I respect christianity and I'm christian-ish, but I'm not sure about that. I don't see how Christianity was a big step up from Greco-Roman paganism/philosophy. I think the west would've done just fine without Christianity. In fact, a large part of the Renaissance and Enlightenment was about rediscovering pre-christian philosophy, laws and art. Islam golden age was also about adding pagan Greece philosophical concepts to their world view.

It has also done more good and has more future capacity for doing good than Islam has or ever will.

Christianity had been abused, Islam by it's very nature is abusive, even to its own followers.

Consider the Christian art and architecture that exists hroughout Europe. People love to downplay the role of Christianity in the preservation of knowledge and arts and furthering those causes, but just consider Charlemagne and alcuin and the import of what they did.

And in all seriousness look at small Christian churches throughout the United States. Without question the structure of Christianity has been abused and there are idiots who completely misuse it. But in every community especially minority communities the Christian church is a bedrock four strong family and societal Bond and structure. Often times these are the places that are providing core services for members of the society who have fallen through the cracks. We're legitimately talking about clothing the poor and feeding the hungry and getting addicts into care. And in most cases you don't need to be a member of the church to get these services. Not to mention the thousands upon thousands of quality Christian Schools (that crush public schools) where you don't have to be Christian to attend.

Try walking into your local Islamic "community" center and telling them you're a homeless drug addict, or a single pregnant teen.
