Mighty Duck Johnson Dodges the Bullet that is TJ Dillashaw

I mean DJ just said he wants to fight Dillashaw and that that's the fight he believes should go down.

The quote on negotiations going dormant ended with "So we're hoping for July". How did everything get so twisted and become another DJ hate thread?

The only thing about this fight that interests me is the entitled nerd's and their comments on how they think DJ and TJ have to fight each other. If the fight doesn't happen, the world isn't over.

You wouldn't like to see MM vs TJ? Doesn't interest you at all? Or are you just trying to be edgy?

I'm sure Dana made him a fair and reasonable offer.

How could you doubt a man so well known for treating DJ fairly.

What the fuck is your point, other than to prove you have no fucking point?

One thing has nothing to do with the other.

Some people's children, I swear.

Sorry I had no idea u guys were dating.

Do u also cry about people who take a break to fight the best boxer ever, and then defend people who won’t accept real challenges in their own weight class?

No. I just understand that this fight is far away, and may not happen, so why act like an entitled idiot and get worked up? I've learned that each time I wanted a fight to happen that didn't, my life went on. I'm not a baby when I don't get what I want.

You guys are too worried about yourselfs and wanting to watch a good fight.

Dude wants more money, so pay the fucken guy, everyone knows ufc rips off their fighters yet you guys give him shit.

Fuck UFC’s under cutting fighters business model.

Que the guy that gona give me a state on his draw power, fuck your draw power pay the guy, you billionaire ufc fucks.
He gets paid the same thing as the other fighters. Why should the UFC pay him more if he's not a draw?

No casual knows who this guy is and no casual is interested in watching a midget fight.

Hell, even many MMA fans like myself have no interest in watching 125 guys fight.

Here's how news outlets reported same interview TS is referring too.

Thanks for clarification
Typical SD lol

It's a problem when TS watches the show many don't and selectively chooses what fits his side, doesn't post the quote, and so we respond to a half-truth. Wasteland material.

Strip him. Cut him.
Never was P4P anything.

I knew he'd never take the fight.

He could have made the fight happen but he chose to break some stupid record vs a guy nobody had heard of.

That fight died when Dana wouldn't offer a cent to back his guarantee TJ would make weight.
Dana was so sure TJ would make weight he already had TJs replacement lined up before the fight was signed.

Have you ever once heard of a fight agreement where a champ is going to fight two possible fighters?

I agree with this, this makes sense.

TJ avoiding the BW's to cut to 125 doesn't. If he wins, is he going to defend the flyweight title? He doesn't seem to have any interest in defending his 135lb title. Is he going to defend both? Will he vacate either belt? This two-division champ stuff is getting ridiculous and out of hand.

I believe TJ does indeed desire to defend his title, but he is obviously open to this fight as well. It just shouldn't be at 125.

If it were st 135, it would have a compelling narrative. If MM were to win, as the reigning champ stepping up a class, that would be a big deal. It was epic when BJ attempted it vs GSP and it was epic when Conor defeated Eddie (his later inactivity notwithstanding). If DJ won at 135, he would be enhancing his achievements dramatically and commencing a new stage of his career as champ st the next weight up.

At 125 - as you said - this only creates confusion and dead ends if TJ emerges victorious. Is he going to defend two belts simultaneously? Of course not - and we know he likely would not remain at 125, so it becomes a pointless situation in which the UFC merely removes DJ from the championship.

So... not only did you make no relevant point, you have difficulty reading. On top of all that... now you reference McGregor in a DJ/TJ thread?

That's some stellar shit right there, lol.

Mighty Duck was on Ariels show just now and said talks of the fight have gone dormant.

This guy shouldnt be on anybodies p4p list. He should be stripped of the title and benched for not taking a fight in his own weight class.

Mighty Duck Johnson needs to go.

Who cares? I dont like midget porno or midget mma.......

Look at all these lard ass basement-dwelling Mighty Mouse haters.
Yeah Johnson should be allowed to bleat on about being undervalued, fighting nobodies he can easily beat, running from the TJ fight and nobody should be allowed to air any dissent at all.

He doesn't treat DJ any differently than other fighters. Except for Conor. But that's Dana's golden boy.

DJ is just overestimating his value. Wants to get paid millions yet his fights sell 100k. Nobody knows who he or his opponents are.

Want to get paid more? Bring in some PPVs.

Guys like Conor, Jones, GSP get paid top dollar because most of their money comes from PPV buys. They are big draws and Mighty Midget is not.

Good lord. This guy fought successfully above his weight class for the first half of his career. And TS is sitting at his computer talking shit. Am I the only one who finds this a tad pathetic.

DJ is leaving the negotiations in the hands of Malki Kawa and he hasn't contacted DJ with anything new in the last 6 weeks.(Too busy working on Jones stellar defense, I guess) He also says he has no interest in being the Champ Champ. I'd much rather see DJ vs TJ at 135 or a 130 catch weight. Says he wants to fight on for another 5 years win or lose. Has a new soft drink sponsor Zevia. It doesn't seem like DJ wants to risk it to become a bigger draw.
