While other champs accept these challenges without hesitation.

Very true, the greats seek out a challenge.

If you are a champ fighting at your natural weight, and challenge down a division, you are a coward looking for an easy fight based on your ability to cut more weight than your opponent.

Unless you have cleaned out your division......

theres so many things wrong with this thread that i wont bother to explain

Yeah it's real challenging sitting on your ass for two years, pausing briefly to fight a retired boxer.

Oh stop. I can agree that McGregor is insufferable and a piss poor champ, but the guy fought the FW GOAT, the LW champ, and the boxing GOAT in a two year span. That's not exactly can-crushing. And in the mix he was willing to fight Mendes (probably the second best FW of his era and a terrible match up for McGregor) as well as Diaz on very short notice. That's something that greats like Jon Jones and Fabricio Werdum declined to do because it was too risky. There's a lot of good reasons to dislike McGregor, but the guy has balls.

As far as Aldo is concerned, I think his wins over Frankie are two of his four best wins, with his other two being his wins over Mendes. Top rate. That said, Frankie wasn't champ at teh time. OP is unclear on that.

Respect to both of these guys for fighting champs from a higher weight class. Didn't Aldo also want to go to LW to fight prime Pettis?
Yes he did but Dana told him that he had to vacate the FW belt if he wanted to challenge Pettis for the LW title.

Aldo would have beaten Penn, Frankie, Bendo, Pettis, RDA, or Alvarez to become a 2 weight division champ if Dana had let him.

Lol, by avoiding the vast majority of challengers ahhaha.

And to OPs point, Aldo is certainly a bigger dude than Frankie. Frankie is just a beast so he fought in the UFC when 155 was the only option he had.

Connie does not count for this thread since he ducks people in his own weight class!
