McGregor fans still hasn't recovered from watching him turn into a panic wrestler during his prime. So pathetic
Holloway was a man at the time. Conor made him look like a kid. With his grappling.Holloway was like a kid at the time.
Conor has literally never finished anyone past the second round. He probably has about one round of KO power with the pace Khabib pushes.
Conor is a very good striker, not so good everywhere else.
A very good MMA fighter, but not a great one because he's not well rounded enough.
He's like a poor mans Anderson Silva because Silva was more varied as a striker and actually had a great ground game, better cardio, more heart and willingness to fight.
There will always be a lot divisive, varying opinions on Conor's abilities, because his skillset itself is not very consistent.
Casuals and lovers of striking will be drawn to him, as will insecure people who live vicariously through his braggadocio.
Because they're right. Even the hardcore Conor fans admit this
That alverez counter is seriously the best counter strike ever landed in the UFC. That shit is unreal and even led to a finish.
Conor's use of distance and timing (in MMA, in boxing vs Floyd he had no chance) grants him far more opportunity to win than a "puncher's chance."
TDD starts at the feet. Conor moves in and out superbly, similar to Machida. Khabib isn't really a blast double guy so I'm not sure he goes 100% on takedowns-- Conor could conceivably avoid some takedowns on distance management alone. The wide stance lets him move back quickly and cover a lot of ground.
Except George Foreman was supposed to beat Ali not just because of his KO ability, but because Ali was old and on the verge of retirement, and George was a monstrous boxer who was faster, younger, stronger, and thought to be the better boxer at the time because of how well he did against Ali's own rival. Doesn't really translate well.
Everyone who wasn't a Conor nut guzzler knew Conor didn't have anything on Floyd, and even his fans would say he can really only knock him out.
You don't know shit lmao.foreman was most definitely not supposed to be a better boxer or faster than ali. how old are you? 14? do you know anything about boxing and foreman? foreman wasn't a boxer at all...he hit really hard, that's all he had.
Max was a decent win but he was a brand new blue belt who trained out of his garage.Holloway was a man at the time. Conor made him look like a kid. With his grappling.
Very true, and some guys (Aldo for example) excel at using the front leg as bait to stop grapplers from getting into the hips. For sure it's going to be a very interesting fight. It also leaves that lead leg out for a single leg, which is already easier for khabib to grab since conor is southpaw and his lead leg is thus closer to Khabibs lead hand. Conor is good at controlling the distance though, so he mostly gets away with it. We'll see how it goes against his first elite wrestler his size and with a full camp.
He was KO’d with his hands down showboating at the age of 38 while Conor was beaten on the feet due to being countered throwing a wild uppercut against a guy not known for his power lmao
Do you not remember that Conor was submitted by nobodies as well?
You kids need serious psychiatric help

Conor has lost once in the UFC, while dusting everyone not named nate diaz, who is known to be able to take almost any shots and keep walking forward, with triathlete level cardio. No harm in losing just 1 fight in the UFC, everyones allowed to grow.
GSP lost a fight to Matt serra in the UFC, and is since like 12 years undefeated

And when GSP lost to Serra Pretty much everybody wrote him off. Even Dana White criticized him for having no heart and being mentally weak. He then went on to have arguably the greatest run in the history of the sport. People grow from losses. They learn.
