Floyd didn't needed McG or the UFC before that freakshow, he was doing a lot of money before his retirement and he saw a chance to milk Mcg's casuals and he did. Now he's doing the same with Rizin but for the japanese public is different because Nasukawa is legit, i've seen his fights and while he's just a kickboxer (a very talented one who gave The Guchi a tough fight) if the fight is straight boxing rules Floyd wins.

I don't think the fight is a casual magnet for the japanese public since they think way different than us but for Rizin and Floyd to book that is huge for the japanese market and it shows that Floyd does business decisions when he sees the chance. Mcg can beg a rematch while Floyd is making more money than him and doing better in every sense and Nasukawa will get more attention.

His opponent is giving up almost 30 pounds and fighting a guy who's probably the best 21st Century boxer (no, Mayweather isn't all-time GOAT over Ali, Leonard, Robinson, etc.) He has no chance in pure boxing. Kickboxing is a different story, but I'm quite sure Mayweather won't agree to any rules that don't give him a big edge.

I really don't get the excitement for this...not until we know the rules and know there won't be a fishy Yakuza/Pride-esque planned outcome...
