Agree with her on Paul Ryan being a clown.

He was christened as the GOP policy-wonk, budget-hawk wunderkind, then as speaker of the House in a 100% GOP government he couldn't pass any meaningful legislation except a tax cut the blew up the deficit during an economic boom.

But, yeah, he's a white guy who achieved electoral success, so it must be deserved; whereas, Ocasio-Cortez is obviously the product of mindless identity politics :rolleyes:

No. But it presents a level of criitical thinking not everyone can get from just life. Most people have to study when they are in school. Not saying dubya didnt, but the profs knew who he was. No one knew who ocasio was when she was in school.

So no, getting a degree doesnt make you automatically smart, but it does provide you with a level of education that imo on most occassions makes you much smarter than the general public who doesnt have a level of higher learning.

She misspoke during a conference call, if I recall correctly. She wasn't being quizzed, she was just speaking freely and had a brain fart. Is that all it takes for you to label her as dumb? Certainly it can't be, since Trump has spent several years now being confused about basic aspects of government and being generally misinformed. If she does that repeatedly then you may be right, but so far that has not been the case.

This is the same line of reasoning that people use to say, "Ha, Obama doesn't even know there are 50 states, he said 57!" It's just a childish attack that nobody really believes it. But when somebody seems generally intelligent, you have to latch on to something random like verbal slip ups. In a way it's a compliment if that's the best somebody can come up with.

What has she done to show is she is intelligent besides graduate college? She says a ton of dumb shit, she can't name the 3 branches of government and her ideas like open borders are dumb as hell

She's that special kind of diluted idiot who will fit right in with all those career politicians who she claims to be so different than. And her voters will eat it up.

I for one welcome another 28 years of a big talking progressive who accomplishes nothing.

What has she done to show she is intelligent other than graduate from Boston University cum laude with a major in International Relations and minor in Economics?

Even if you don't agree with her politics - what more does someone have to do to show that they are intelligent?

That's the largest international science competition for high school students in the world. 2nd place in an international STEM competition isn't too shabby.

This suggests that she's a fairly bright person, gaps in knowledge notwithstanding.

And we just spent a Presidential election with people insisting that precise textbook knowledge of the workings of government aren't that important so long as the person is dedicated to improving the nation. To see people suddenly treat these things as reflective of intellectual ability is such an insane change of perspective from 2 years ago.

This thread really gives her argument credence. People keep saying she's dumb or whatever but if you start digging into her background, she's got a background superior to Ryan's by a country mile.
