Before they awarded him with a license to fight in their state, the California State Athletic Commission missed out on some pretty important information. During his meeting with the media, Jeff Novitzky, who handles all the USADA cases for the UFC, said that the CSAC was not informed of the findings in Jon Jones’ testing results before their license hearing with Jones on December 11.

Speaking in a media scrum following the early weigh-ins on Friday, Novitzky confirmed that California had not been made aware of the test results prior to Jones’ hearing. As has been explained throughout the week, USADA found picograms of the metabolite oral Turinabol in Jones’ system in a sample that was collected on December 9, 2018. It was because of this finding that the Nevada State Athletic Commission did not grant Jones a license for his fight against Alexander Gustafsson which had been scheduled to take place in Las Vegas and has since been relocated to The Forum in Englewood, California.
What a fucking shit show. At this point, given the recent reveal of his drug test results, they have to pull his license, right?

LMAO

This circus freak-show never ends. The corruption is clear thru the roof.

They were aware of this....

And who was aware? Jeff? UFC? But they forgot to tell the commision? Yeah, right. Nice joke.

Shitshow clusterfook.

<{clintugh}>

Edit. So they basically lied to the NSAC as they didn’t inform them about this?

No doubt Dana would have no problems cancelling it again and moving it to his snowy driveway if he could screw enough fans over

Would be funny to see Dana's head exploding if the CSAC somehow cancels the fight, but that probably won't happen.

Holy shit, it just keeps getting crazier.

Could they stop the fight from happening at this point?

I'm pretty sure failure to disclose the information on a government form is, at the very least, perjury.

For God sake can you all give it a rest regardless if they knew or didn't they not stopping the fight that is hours away...

What an absolute circus this has become...

Corruption at its finest, and on several levels

You guys need to relax and enjoy the fights. Who knows, maybe Gus will bust his face again.

Well no shit sherlock. You must be the brains in your class right? Sarcasm btw. If you dont like the thread dont click it. Problem solved complainer.

That's weird.

Didn't the CSAC wonder why they were changing venue a week out?

*edit*

This is explained by Frankie a few posts down.

Look man, I don't give a shit about doping. Hell, the UFC probably doesn't really give a shit about doping. But when the UFC decided to get bed with USADA, probably because they felt it would legitimize them, they basically told the world, "We're not OK with doping, and it became part of a UFC-employed fighter's job to pass USADA-mandated drug tests, the same way it's a UFC fighter's job to make weight for their fight.

They don't then get to change the rules they themselves agreed to just because one of the fighters in their employ and need to headline a card ended up in violation of the rules. It's not a matter of fairness, it's a matter of the fact they were the ones who brought in the rules in the first place.

I'm not asking fighters not to dope; all I'm asking for is, when fighters get caught doping, they're treated the same way across the board, and not have them bend over backwards for just one fighter. There's literally no other job I can think of where an employee could be repeatedly incompetent at doing their job, and the employer would go out of their way to make sure the employee got away with being incompetent.

Unless bending over backwards for every fighter caught doping from here on out is the new policy.

To be fair ... leaving that out weakened the argument

the argument was Jones had it in his system from 2017.
If they didn't have it in any test prior to 12/9, then it looks like he re-ingested it again.

Its not corruption as much as UFC fucking up (in this case)

now the whole thing is shady, but Jones having it in his system in the summer helps the argument UFC brought

They knew & discussed it with NSAC

They just did not know the picos were in earlier test as well, BUT ... that info helps UFC/USADA argument so it wouldnt matter
