The problem for me isn't Valverde, it's our "Sporting" department that consists of a bunch of former players that want to put together a Fifa side instead of giving a manager what he wants. We never needed or could have used Coutinho in any valuable way, either in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 (Valverde's best formation) with the squad we have. Malcolm was a good signing on paper but a longshot given his limited skillset and the players we already have. A proper Valverde side, and Barca side for that matter, consists of a 8-10 players who put in a shift, win the ball, keep the ball and dictate the pace. That Bilbao side are mostly Valverde boys and they beat us the same way he used to beat us. It was gross.

Abidal, Segura and these wackos keep signing and fighting for "Specialists" and wingers. The midfielders we sign aren't creative or holding, but somewhere inbetween; which is fine, if we still had an Iniesta to carry the ball around zip it. Any notion that Coutinho would replace him was ridiculous. They're not remotely similar. My problem with Valverde at this point is his formation choices, not necessarily team choices.
I got bad feelings when we signed him and they didn't go in for Inigo Martinez one of two players Valverde asked for. We needed a CB, Inigo was quoted at 40million, we bought Paulinho instead.

As long as he's still got the dressing room, he's going to be okay for the year, one would hope. Messi, Saurez, Pique, Busquets have all spoken up for him. Benching Busi could have sealed it though. We shall see. The maniacs run the asylum at this point.
So you are Liverpool pre Klopp

Got it

I mean yesterday's result points in that direction. Brendan would have started Dembele at RB tho.
Firpo was a big buy for us. We have an agreement with Atletico that includes a set price for Saul that lasts one more year, but that's hopeful thinking.

Funny how "The better team lost" is never typed by Liverpool fans when they get played off the pitch and pull results out of their ass.

How long do you think we've got to wait before La Liga sells TV rights to a channel all cable providers list here?

Proper ball-ache hunting down Barca streams that dont freeze.

idk if we're ever going to see that honestly. Mexicans and South Americans only watch Madrid games for the most part and they stream heavily. It would be an absolute mess as well. American and British broadcasters that US networks use know fuck all about La Liga, especailly the bottom sides. Championship is full of history so promoted teams get fair coverage and drama (Villa, Sheffield). Good luck getting Hope Solo to talk to you about Osasuna.

If you ever need one just shout at me, unless you're still doing your stone-wall cold gimmick

ESPN just signed that Boro chick, Kay, off of beIN. She knows more about La Liga than Burley, Nicol, Shaka & Ale combined.

So sad how inward looking the UK footy pundits are. Labeling them lazy would be borderline complimentary.

I understand why. I didn't get to watch hardly any La Liga when I started watching football stateside and in Korea i had to spend my time at the Cafes to watch anything other than a United game (People underestimate how big Park was over there, my word, that 2008 final was massive). Arsenal/Reading and games like that took huge priority over here and you got to learn about smaller sides. Betis is breaching a bit over here with Guardado. Atelti have done well to establish a fanbase. The Barca/Madrid thing just makes it so difficult.

Did they really? I haven't watched anything from ESPN recently. I like her and her goofy eyes. Alejandro is insufferable.
