...And we still don't know if he has improved on that sweet ole takedown defense.

So why would he beat Stipe a second time? We'll just be on the edge of our seat for 2 rounds again and scream to our screen for a stand up for the next 15 minutes.

Did look a bit like caveman Wanderlei.

He's like Wanderlei but 50lbs bigger and iron chin

He just went Silverback Gorrilla mode. There was no need to get technical with that option on the table.

You do realise there are many threads in this forum about the same topics?

False. To maintan his frame and momentum through an explosive combination like that is extremely impressive from a technical standpoint. Not that a casual would understand that.

Thanks for saving me the effort to repeat that ngannou actually has better punching technique than most of the other heavyweights in UFC.

Just because it was like that 1 fight doesn't mean he has poor striking.

His striking is usually pretty crisp.

He went wild on Rosenstruik and while it was successful and hats off to him for pulling off another spectacular W, he might not want to go to that too often.

That was actually an excellent display of skill and fight IQ. You just don't understand what you saw.

He got the job done.
If the fight went on more than a few seconds I am sure you would have seen more finesse from him.

he would beat stipe because stipe has gotten worse since they last fought

also how can you say he has poor striking when he is on a four fight win streak and has won all fights via KO?

This is HW MMA, the standards for striking arent exactly great. Plus hes a big athletic guy with the biggest punching power ever seen in the sport. Standing with him is a bad idea for anybody regardless of how sloppy he might be.

Effective striking > looking "technical"

Good technique is anything that gets the victory. It's pathetic to nitpick on successful fighters for their "poor" technique. Technique is not a narrow set of moves. This is not dancing or gymnastics.

Roz had him miss 3 times in a row. No one looks good missing a moving target 3 times in a row.
