Expandweird stuff on weigh-ins.
Expandweird stuff on weigh-ins.
three fighters missed weight by a little on first attempt (barboza, chookagian and grundy) but they were super surprised.. seemed like probably technical issues with scale or something. also bontorin and dariush missed.Expand
he also bragged he broke some trainingspartner's ribs, the guy is a weird dude with already clear signs of cte.Don't see ME going 4 rounds. One guy is going to finish it in 3.
I see Tony getting finished here. Dude changes camps more than a girl and tampons on her period. Tons of CTE going on. Why was he bragging that he only trained 5 hrs of bjj for the Olivera fight?
Heard this story before. People were saying Max was washed and was gonna lose to Kattar. This is Tony fucking Ferguson. As a sizeable underdog.
Career-altering beating by Gaethje? Cmon. He had Gaethje in deep deep shit for a bit there. He’s got the better movement, the better technique, the better striking, more experience, and arguably a better BJJ game.
Outside of getting wrestlefucked I see Tony with a clinic here. Obviously a contrarian opinion
Recipe for a washed fighter who falls off the cliff: 1) be 37 at LW; 2) train like they did at chute boxe; 3) get the absolute shit beat out of you for 30 mins straight during your last two.
Dude, look at my AV. He landed one good shot on Justin at the end of rd 2 that dropped him for a second. He never had him in deep shit at all, Justin really wasn't even hurt. Again, Tony is my favorite fighter ever.
That said, IF this is somehow just a striking match I do agree Tony has the edge. He's busier and can do more damage by far standing than Dariush. If Beneil stands with Tony...Tony wins.
I just don't see that happening. Beneil isn't a moron. He's seen what happens to guys who get in drawn out striking matches with Tony (aside from Gaethje). Tony breaks faces. But Tony's TDD is...not good. And he doesn't have a better bjj game than Beneil. On par with sure. But in MMA if you're on your back, you're losing rounds. Tony likely ends up on his back and Beneil is plenty good enough to hold him there.
I am seriously hoping you're right and I'm wrong though.

Admittedly BD hasn’t fought anyone on the level of the 2 guys Tony just fought, but that really addresses only the third part of my recipe. And what’s important isn’t the level of competition, it’s the severity of the beatings. When was the last time you saw BD get brutalized for 23 mins and then finished?*against beast mode fighters
Who’s Dariush beaten?
I don't think he pressures his opponents as much as stands right in front of them the whole time, he doesn't really try advancing once he is in the pocket.he is, but his pressure is relentless, often people fold under it. But if you watch back the Emmett fight, Burgos is almost trying to catch every overhand with his face like a magnet.
I know you’re a huge fan of Tony man I love that about you. Here’s the thing though. Dariush can be a bit of a moron.
Dober and even Holtzman had him in a little trouble if memory serves.
Just saying if this is purely a fade play on Ferguson, it’s a bad bet. Dariush has beaten absolutely no one at all.
And you’re forgetting your favorite fighter is one of if not the most prolific “off his back” fighters in UFC history.
