He makes weight every time at the middleweight limit so good for him, but damn, that must be an absolutely miserable training camp to get into water cut range of 185.

We're 13 weeks from fight week. assuming he water manipulation cuts 20 pounds the final 10 days, he's gonna have to diet/train away over 2 pounds a week between now and then.

Damn.

Rumour has it Paddy gets up to 300+ lbs before a fight.

Yes. I was joking about the 300 lbs.

He's probably on the last day of a small bulk, just had a massive meal and a shake, and was about 15lbs lighter when he woke up...

He'll come in jacked.

It can’t be fun to cut that much. LHW is a depleted division as well - I’m surprised more guys aren’t trying their hand there.

The guy is massive at MW.

edit: he’s out of camp. No way is he over 205-210 on fight night.

also, some of you do not understand weight cutting

His size advantage is the only thing helping his TDD, he needs to cut the most weight at all costs. I think if he wasn't so big and just had his kickboxing skills he would've been outwrestled easier and never made a title shot.

Thanks to having fought in California, we know that Paulo Costa, Yoel Romero, and Marvin Vettori rehydrated to around 215 lbs after weighing in at 185 lbs.

Alex Pereira has low body fat, which makes it posible to suck out water very efficiently, since he doesn't have a lot of fat cells where water gets trapped. He should be able cut 30 lbs of water weight out like those other fighters.

That's a big man at MW. And people wonder why the HW division is so much weaker than it used to be- it's because half the HW's from back in the day would be cutting to LHW and MW in modern MMA. If he were fighting 20 years ago, Alex Pereira would be a juiced up 245lb HW running through the HW division.

He is 6'4, same height as Ngannou or Jon Jones. A lot of these lighter weight limits are all weight cutting shenanigans these days.

Paddy gets up to 200+ pounds in between fights.
