Now that the dust has settled, who won condit vs diaz

5-0 Condit. Silva also beat him 5-0. Somehow Diaz fans think he won both fights.

Watched it live, I felt diaz won especially under the old judging criteria. I remember Condit running away the whole fucking time, and thinking he would have gotten pieced up if they went toe to toe. Never rewatched it for further analysis cuz the fight sucked and the decision pissed me off.

One of the more disappointing fights for dure. But Condit won it.

The only real takeaway from that fight is the fact that Condit outran a triathlete

Condit clearly won and I don't really recall that being a controversy. We just didn't get the fight we wanted nor expected.

I always thought this debate was like BJ v GSP.

Everyone knows GSP won two rounds out of 3 - it's not even debatable. Some just think BJ "won the 'fight'", "won the moral victory", or "should have won if the rules were more like I wish they were".

We know fans can get resentful when a fighter doesn't just stand and bang.
Tough truth pill for some to swallow

Condit soundly won that fight by being the superior fighter and tactician. He wasn't stupid enough to let Diaz press him into the corner to pummel him. Instead, he picked him apart effortlessly as Diaz plodded forward and ate strikes, while talking and putting his hands to the side to mock Carlos in frustration.

Nick is an all time action fighter, and I loved to watch the guy fight, but he diversified far too late in this one and fought Carlos' fight. Its unfortunate that a lot of Diaz' fans are delusional and can't let this go.

As an aside, imagine still being upset about a single line in a ninety second fight promo twelve years later. Wolf tickets indeed.

Blotting forward and being a punching bag and flicking people off isnt winning lol..

Condit won the 5k foot race and he even went against a seasoned triathlon’er

I remember they did a “step-count” that fight with some digital technology they used and Carlos Condit literally covered enough ground to equal a 5k………..in a fist fight………

Condit. Followed the gameplan almost perfectly and Diaz never adapted.
Nickys only plan was to hope to back Condit up against the cage and then hope that Condit doesn't move after that and stays right there. That was Nickys only chance and even then Condit would have pieced him up. Condit with the better chin than Nicky as well.

Condit won it pretty convincingly. Diaz had 0 ability to adapt to Condit's leg kick game and just walked into them all fight long.

Diaz won the fight. Condit led the field for annoying point fighters, with no heart and pitty patty strikes.

at the end of the day, it doesn't matter since they both ended up fighting GSP anyway. I'll say Condit because he put up the best fight vs GSP

Also, Nick complained endlessly about this decision, whereas I hardly recall Condit complaining at all when he got robbed against Robbie Lawler

Nick and Nate have the most delusional fan base ever its actually comical, nick did nothing in that fight condit was the clear winner.

Diaz. Or if you apply 10-10s liberally for inaction, perhaps a draw. All things being equal... not landing and walking forward > not landing and walking backwards. Aggression being a black-and-white scoring criteria in the rules makes it easy.

Pretending like it wasn't part of the rules or that walking backwards was a stroke of tactical genius kind of misses that point IMHO. But whatever. Greg Jackson isn't around any longer so we don't have to deal with these silly headaches any longer.

Not me, fight was boo. Condit hit n run too much. Technically Condit out pointing but his timid style almost would deduct points unfortunately Diaz low aggression allowed Carlos to run the fine line. Had Diaz tried chasing harder or engaging more could make a stronger case for him but he did not. Carlos outsmarted Diaz n got the win.
