Seems like he's struggling to find something else that gives his life purpose. Normal for any sport, but probably even more so for something that gives a big rush and is so visceral like fighting. And a few times in his interviews he talked about him being "a man", so maybe he feels like fighting is the only way to live as a man or to deal with life problems (like his breakup and abortion, whatever else) as a man. /armchair psychology
