  • the kind of guy to train his body to continue fighting even after brain death.
  • able to keep going with negative HP.
  • the kind of fighter who not only weaponizes pace, but weaponizes getting knocked out and coming back as a tool to demoralize his opponent (just ask Reyes)
  • someone who would be honored to die in the ring
  • the type of fighter you let get mounted and pounded in the head several times to be absolutely sure he can't come back

For anyone else that stoppage may have been fine, but not for the modern day samurai.

The irony of this post is that The Modern Day Samurai himself was fine with the stoppage.
Only The Modern Day Samurai would say this because he knows normal people cant possibly know that he was just settling into 2nd gear.

I would have liked him to received more shots as well. Maybe until his big toes locked up and he was staring into blank space while twitching and heavy breathing.

Man that wasnt even his final form....

On top of that the man was honorable enough to say what he said just to save Goddards career and not bring the UFCs name into disrepute.

They don’t make many like Jiri.

STOP THE FIGHT!! THE PROFESSIONAL FIGHTER WHOSE VERY JOB IT IS TO DO COMBAT HAS BEEN HIT MORE THAN THREE TIMES!!! END THE FIGHT NOW REEEEE!

Jiri is Tony Ferguson, who turned to a psychologist in time.

Jiri is the kind of guy to get hit way too often. It was gonna eventually catch up to him, it was inevitable.
He was doing well until he wasn't, most guys don't expect to get hurt by such a short shot like the 1 Periera caught him with.

Similar to Tyson Fury in boxing.

agreed but the stoppage was fine and the refs don't need to give bias based on a fighter's character
Gonna have to disagree there. If it's Bob Sapp then the ref can stop the fight as soon as he eats the first jab for all I care. But for a fighter like Jiri you gotta let it play out enough so that there is no doubt he's not coming back.

Also not saying Jiri was definitely gonna come back, but there was a measurable chance he could have.
