Media Dana White responds to media member's "stupid question" about Jones vs Ngannou, PFL co-promotion

Knockdown and consensus victory over the lineal HW champion of the world in that 'sideshow'. Got a sweet deal with the PFL to go along with it.

As fans we just wanna see the fight - Dana could make the fight happen but is choosing not to.
Francis takes over spot over fedor versus Brock fight.

How as consumers can we get rid of Dana serious question. We have the power not to buy ppv or ESPN. What else is there is to do.

Both parties would benefit.
Just like pride fc co-promoted with UFC it helped UFC fight top tier opposition.
UFC would look dumb as fuck with Jones KO'd and retired while Ngannou fights for PFL. People enjoy it here because the "fuck UFC" attitude, but realistically their reputation is having Jones, Silva, GSP and all the greats inside UFC. They build their brand name over the fighters for the reputation. That would be the start of questioning the competition inside UFC.

Ding ding ding. We have a winner. Dana take the business way too personal. Backfires a lot.
I can make some fedor vs crocop
Royce Gracie vs saku

How was it not question when rampage beat Chuck and pride and the UFC.
How not a question now when Jiri won the championship in the UFC.
How was it? Not a question when strikeforce fighters won championships in the UFC.

It was the most stupid question of the night. Why would UFC co-Promote for one person who was a boring MMA fighter.

It fucking hella was. Non stop even to this day people on this forum are talking about how Pride was better than UFC and point to those fights. Again its bad business and Chuck lost his reputation getting KO'd like that who was one of their biggest stars. If UFC didn't buy Pride out and Pride kept running it would've been stupid. They were lucky to cannibalize Pride and turn out a bunch of stars in UFC to save face. But PFL is just starting to bloom so you're talking about helping an org that is suddenly getting investors for big purchases and growing. Not to mention how Pride and UFC were equal size or Pride might have been bigger so UFC had more to gain.

It gave legitimacy to UFC when facing pride. It's UFC holding back that legitimacy of course these organization can compete. Ufc does not function like a normal sport. It would be normal for them to fight rival competition just like any other sport happens all the time.

What you're talking about is shit like boxing. Look how they handle different belts and managers, etc. It's a mess. NFL NBA MLB are world renown because they have the best players under one roof. You split it up and now the fights people want can't get made.

He cant admit in anyway that he fucked up with Ngannou and now has to double down. Typical Dana
francis gambled on francis and it worked out… for francis. good for francis. but dana represents ufc, not francis. so how did he “fuck up” if francis decided to walk away from the sport?

Dana’s right, why would he co promote with a lesser org and up their status. Dana is thinking in business terms, offcrouse he would love to have Jones vs Ngannou or Ngannou vs [insert name] in the UFC. It ain’t going to happen so he’s move on.

let’s all pretend Tom aspinall is the best hw. Unique to the sport and has world class bjj as well. He’s 12-3. I think cain was the goat with 8 fights so aspinall is something nobody has ever seen at hw before. A true goat

Heres the thing while said reporter knew what Danas answer would be before asking the question media members are looking for quotes. If you just say "Dana is not willing to co promote with the PFL because it doesn't make sense" without a quote you're putting words in his mouth and will get shit on for bad journalism. What if he did that someone else asked the question and Dana said "you know what I'm open to co promoting to get fans this fight". Then this reporter would look like a can.

Dana's "not interested, he tried to make that fight. Stupid question".

<{katwhu}>

Vince is right, he's a much better businessman.

He'd have made that fight happen.
WWE didnt co-promote w WCW

Does anyone care to fill in the blanks and explain why that was such a dumb question?
It's dumb because we all know the answer. UFC won't let another mma organization profit with them they're a monopoly.

Francis and Jones is a great fight but we'll never see it.

They have franchises in mlb and nfl.
UFC not comparable than you have pfl and bellator UFC within the association.

All under the NFL, good luck trying to get the "franchises" to play against non-NFL teams.

Dana is still that small, fragile, shitty teeth, receding hairline dumb fuck inside that he was when he was brought over to the UFC. Watching him over the last two decades it's clear he can't handle power and fame, and immediately lets it get to his head and act like he's the biggest baddest dude ever, shit talking everyone he can. Also sad how many people on here, and in general, gargle his balls and would do anything they could to be a worthless person like him.
