To be fair TRT Bigfoot was a legit elite fighter, losing TRT and having the brain op he declined massively in a short space of time.
That said I think Ubereem in MMA did have clear weaknesses people tend to try and ignore claiming it was just a lack of horse which caused his decline. You look...
As Bi has mentioned before really Highlander owes a lot to "Trench Coat Urban Apocalypse" films like Escape From Newyork or The Terminator.
Its a bit of a weird franchise were I think the first sequel really played up that style and didnt care too much about the mythology were as afterwards...
It can be effective but I feel like a lot of the focus goes back to that era were fighters(especially ex Pride fighters) were too willing to fight off of their backs in an environment which judged top control over everything. What I think you've seen happen in MMA over the last decade or more is...
Honestly though I did always feel like "wrestling is the best base for MMA" was questionable, it can certainly be an effective base but really I feel the issue was much more the US Wrestling scene presented a relatively large talent pool who could be picked up relatively cheaply, it was just UFC...
He showed power IMHO but throwing down in the last 10 secs of a fight like that is absolute not the way he fights normally which is much more about overwhelming with volume.
I think Max's lack of power made it easier for Volk to take the odd shot but overall outwork him on the outside were as...
Volk to me seemed nevy from the start, looking to keep Topuria far on the outside, wear of his ability to step in with fight ending punches.
Its a very different fight to Max IMHO who whilst he can land KOs shots if he really sits down on his punchs as vs Justin generally doesnt as his normal...
If there heads had been entirely filled with Dana Whites fecal matter they might.
Vader did actually have a history doing shoot style pro wrestling doing back to the UWFi in the early 90's, had some very big fights with Takada.
Personally I think the time kickboxers potentially need to adapt to MMA can often be overstated, indeed how long MMA fighters from other sports needs generally to switch can be.
The issue IMHO is the UFC tends to depend on fighters getting their attention in smaller orgs more so than was the...
Not really a fan of the animalist Akuma looks personally and this does look rather MK in style but I spose he does have the classic alternate, I think some kind of mysterious hooded look would have fitted SF6 better.
I notice a good deal of downward power punch stuff which I spose makes sense...
I do feel theres always been an insecurity in MMA to kickboxers moving in, any time anyone gets sucess we get the same old "he'll loose as soon as he fights a wrestler", sometimes its true of course but very often its not.
The flipside is I think MMA always falls in love with the idea of the...
To be honest anyone working for the UFC is going to be heavily comprimsied because the commentary is always going to involve a load of dishonest shilling for the brand, much moreso than most sports commentary your basically a UFC PR guy.
Truth is though both Disney and De Santis are opportunists who only care about such issues to the degree it advantages them.
Victor Salva getting welcomed back into Hollywood obviously showed you the potential for this happening.
Which probably explains part of the longevity, his early style is definitely a "young mans game" which would not be sustainable for that length of time as injuries pile up and mobility decreases,
