In the hindsight, yes. But his striking already was not looking great there outside the KO. So there was a lot of risk if Arlovski were to stay disciplined.
Jones won the title against Shogun and his 3 defenses were against Rampage, Rashad and Machida. Can it get any more legendary that that?
Khabib won the title against a real estate agent and defended against post-Mayweather Conor and the Ustin brothers, then quit. RDA is the only fight that...
Heath was a very legit opponent who was 0-1 in the UFC and only had 1 MMA win in Japan. Brock could have easily repeated what Fedor did to Heath but he decided to stand.
That was the fight where Brock became bad at taking shots. His striking was actually much better when he faced Heath Herring. Brock made him to do a somersault with a nice straight right and was exchanging well.
In any other sport it would be expected to face 20+ cans before competing against high ranked opponents. But in MMA divisions can be shallow and a fighter with KO power and TDD can go very far.
Mirko's style worked great in a ring where he could cut the opponent off and throw his left kicks and straights until something lands. Alex's style works great everywhere. I do not think Mirko would even beat Strikland in a cage due to an unorthodox defensive style.
A lot of people have not been paying taxes in Russia. Due to the war in Ukraine they are now starting to crack down on that. A bunch of Youtubers have been jailed for not paying taxes.
Nelson's best wins were Struve, CroCop (who got his revenge in Bellator) and Nog. He was the best gatekeeper ever.
Lewis was a legit top 5 fighter with wins over Roy himself, Gonzaga, Browne, Volkov, Ivanov, Oleinik, Blaydes and Ngannou.
