I use 4C flavor packets because the type I buy contain electrolytes, which I think are more important for staying hydrated than simply drinking gallons of water a day.
This study costs money, but it seems that the abstract gets at the cortisol argument:

In his defense, it's not like he's the only person who says that ketones can be used for fuel in place of glucose made from carbs.
A different take on this subject would be to look at some of Peter Attia's blog posts on physical performance while in a ketogenic state. You can find that blog...
Among other hormones, carbs cause your pancreas to secrete insulin, which is an anabolic hormone. That is, in influences the movement of nutrients to muscles (and elsewhere) to influence muscle growth.
This is the reader's digest version of it, as your question is quite the can of worms to open.
Ketogenic low carb? CKD and TKD are considerations for that sort of thing. I like CKD, but I'm also not very strict about my rules during those carb up days either...
For most people, low energy is indicative of not hitting your macro percentages correctly, not of the diet itself. It sounds like he's having a hard time controlling cheats in the first place, so it seems to follow that the uneven energy levels could be caused by blood sugar spikes. Maybe I'm...

If that's the same thing as sirloin tips (from New England, that's what we call them), then close, but no. Nothing beats a damned ribeye. I love me some porterhouse, but I can skip on the sirloin strip, personally. Just leave me the tenderloin.

Having a 7 net carb bar is not going to kick out out of ketosis. And it's not like that's the most important factor in doing a low carb/keto diet, anyway.
If those are shirataki noodles, I've read that it's best to fry them for a bit before using them for whatever you're doing, as it will help out texture. They're definitely not a real noodle experience, but they're a nice crutch to have something like pasta when you want it.
