Once you mess around with all the styles, then it will open up and get more interesting. I played aerial hammer and aerial switch axe for most of my playtime all the way through g-rank. Playing as a Palico can also be a nice break. The sheer number of weapons and armor sets can get intimidating.

I have been taking it slow and trying to avoid spoilers to discover the switch skills and final boss monsters on my own. Just unlocked the final switch skill for Hammer.... holy shit! My friend and I feel that this is now the greatest monster hunter game ever :D
