Oh yeah for sure, Helen Maroulis defeating Saori Yoshida in the Olympic gold medal match was definitely special. I couldn't agree more that Helen & Adeline are great for women's wrestling, they're both superbly skilled, class acts and great ambassadors for the sport, and quite lovely too. I...
Yeah, Helen Maroulis has been on an awesome run and she's well on her way to establishing herself as the greatest female amateur wrestler the United States has ever produced. Not too long ago I would've said Adeline Gray, and Adeline still has 3 World golds (& 2 bronzes) to Helen's 2 World golds...
Oh yeah, my girl Helen Maroulis won another World Championship in Paris, France today, and at that she had one of the most dominant performances in American history in not allowing a single point in five matches while earning five technical falls with a combined 53-0 score!!
I just saw Hank Williams Jr. in concert with Lynyrd Skynyrd back on August 11th. Hank Jr. is an excellent storyteller and he included some great covers in his set; his father's classic "Move It On Over", the Jerry Lee Lewis hit "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and Johnny Cash's "I Walk the Line"...
That's sad & tragic. Before I saw the news earlier I honestly didn't even know Dallas McCarver & Dana Brooke were dating. Anyway, McCarver was young & had a ton of potential, and at that, he quite possibly could've won Mr. Olympia one day. May Dallas McCarver rest in peace and may God bless &...
I wish they'd really try to do something with Hangman Page. Every time it looks like he may get a real push, they pull back on it for whatever reason. I'm not saying it should be main event-level or anything, but just give him a sustained push and see whether he sinks or swims in the position...
He should be, it's brutal. I have no idea what the powers that be in WWE were thinking making the SummerSlam card so crowded that they have to start the show with nary a butt in any seat yet....
They did that back in 1960, it was called The Magnificent Seven (of course that got it's own remake recently too) except it was about gunfighters in the American old west rather than samurai in feudal Japan. ;)
Interesting concept for sure, but trying to compete with WWE these days is never a good idea regardless of who's behind it. If an affilation like that actually happened, they should try to be an major alternative to WWE, not direct competition. ;)
