How different would Conor’s record be assuming he never negotiated big pay days and received average UFC fighter pay...starting after the Aldo fight?
Would he have fought around twice a year and still be active?
Would he have won the title at 155? Would he have defended?
Some fighters are...
The problem is there are no wins in there. He wont beat Pacquiao. He probably wont beat Khabib. He wont beat Mayweather and he would beat Nate and probably lose to Masvidal.
The Khabib fights diminished after he loses to Pacquiao. But if he then loses to Khabib again the Mayweather fights an...
I'm not jealous of his lifestyle. There are plenty of rich and famous people who are miserable and I like my life. Congrats to what he has achieved.
Maybe I am naive and drug use is far more rampant in the sport than I imagined. I don't like drug use questioning the legitimacy of the sport and...
Alright, I apologize I'm obviously very anti-Jones. But seriously, how long until the sport is known for ridiculous decisions? It really impacts boxing, the decisions are a total joke. One thing I enjoyed about the UFC is that most of the time that corruption seemed absent.
I think this is part of the solution. That judge needs to be fired and investigated. What if they went with a totally different judging system. Rather than 3 judges, we have 5 judges?
Or, maybe the problem is these judges know what they will be judging too far in advance? and this enables them...
In the history of the sport Jones will go down as a multiple-time steroid cheat and winner of many dubious decisions.
It doesn't bother me that Jones will keep making big money. I mean, he like the other fighters deserve to get paid for putting their health on the line.
I just think it's sad...
It wasn't one of those fights where its 50-45 and goes the wrong way. In that sense, I agree with you. You could find 20 worse decisions for sure.
It's just that you cannot argue that Reyes didn't win the first 3 rounds. It's very clearcut. Meaning judges must have got paid off or something to...
There should be a committee that immediately reviews outrageous and controversial decisions and overturns them. Similar to VAR in soccer.
It's impacting the sport in a major way. I know at least half a dozen people who say they lost interest after this Saturday and that the sport has lost its...
lol. I'm just saying, the argument that the judges ruling stands no matter what is completely flawed. Obviously the sport is susceptible to corruption or just plain idiocy. I've never ever considered Hammil's win legitimate even though I've never cheered Jones on.
So why the double standard...
Whose win was more legitimate?
Matt Hammill defeating Jon Jones?
Or
Jones Jones defeating Reyes?
I keep hearing that a win is a win regardless of whether or not it was deemed completely contrary to common sense. So by that standard, doesn't Hammil's win count over Jones?
Well, I think they are assuming all this is worthwhile because Jones can get to a decision and take a heck of a beating. But eventually, he is just going to get KTFO and this will all be pointless.
My guess is they shock everyone and book the Izzy fight next because they know Jones can't get...
Obviously they and other people with money want Jones to keep winning. But even the people buying off the judges need to recognize it's getting ridiculous.
Ping may get out somewhat OK. Reem is toast. My dad suffers from it from sports as a young person and he had to retire at 50. Reem will be toast by 50.
Calling the GOAT a loser?
You are pathetic. Even if he is cherry-picking who can blame him. He has a ton of octagon miles. He is doing precisely what every fighter should do in retirement. Staying very fit, saving his money and staying open to a rare superfight.
