    SUMO - 2017 Nagoya Basho (July 9th - July 23rd)

The footwork here is awesome. I'm so into Hakuho's bad guy in a movie persona. This was like a Dragonball Z episode were the bad guy is like, "give me your best!". Takakeisho does his ultimate charge attack, the smoke clears and Hakuho whispers "my turn...". He powers up to a godly level...

Is Hakuho the GOAT sumo wrestler?

Oh, here is the article I was talking about.

Is Hakuho the GOAT sumo wrestler?

I feel like Hakuho's "evil streak" needs to be factored in to his greatness as well. His entertainment value goes way up because of this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but a lot of people don't like him because of his "bad boy" antics such as not always acting Yokazuna-like outside of the ring, and...

Is Hakuho the GOAT sumo wrestler?

someone wrote a real good article a little bit ago that was SUPER stat heavy and showed like all the winningest sumo wrestlers of all time. Puts a good perspective on Hakuho's dominance.

    New BJJ Scout

I think Brock Lesnar vs Heath Herring was the first time I was like, "oh shit! he's beating him up with straight highschool wrestling!" Love to see this.

    SUMO - 2017 Natsu Basho (May 14th - May 28th)

Yeah, I always thought the indication that the match was about to really start was the Gyoji switching from foot forward stance to horse stance. Didn't realize they could just decide to start on their own like that. I started watching sumo that one year when they were streaming the entire...

    SUMO - 2017 Natsu Basho (May 14th - May 28th)

Dan Kelly's trips and throw attempts

Haha! Exactly. This is clearly not the story of the fight, but it is the story of the stats.

Dan Kelly's trips and throw attempts

During the Kelly vs Evans fight tonight, I think Annik made a comment like "Dan Kelly officially 0/6 on takedowns tonight" after Kelly went for one of the many trips and throws that didn't actually get Rashad down, but brought him to his knees and made him defend. Just got me thinking about how...

triangle vs eye gouges (vid analysis)...

The one thing this video doesn't illustrate that i've seen in most other videos where the guy in worse position tries dirty moves is that usually it's the point in the fight were things get really bad for the dirty fighter. Usually you see a switch get flipped in the "clean" fighter and he...

SUMO - 2016 Aki Basho (Sept. 11th - 25th) (bonus GAME hosted by Gorgonon)

Whoa. I was looking for Osunaarashi in the daily highlights. Didn't realize he had been bumped down to Juryo. Bummer. I liked the "feel-good-ness" of his story. It's crazy how sumo has the potential for almost fight-like violence and intensity. This is the kind of match I would show to a...

What was CM Punks first mistake on the ground

I can't say the first thing he did wrong, but I will say the one thing I think he did well, was lose. what I mean is he lost looking like an outclassed mma fighter, not some asshole off the street flailing like an idiot before being knocked senseless. In the end CM Punk defended himself well...

SUMO - 2016 Aki Basho (Sept. 11th - 25th) (bonus GAME hosted by Gorgonon)

Wow, you really went for it huh? A couple years ago we used to do tournaments where every day you would pick one Rikishi to win that day. You could only pick each Rikishi once per tournament. At the end, whoever has the most correct guesses wins. It was pretty enjoyable.

SUMO - 2016 Aki Basho (Sept. 11th - 25th) (bonus GAME hosted by Gorgonon)

Man, that's a real bummer to hear. When I first started watching sumo I was immediately drawn to Tokitenku because of his foot sweeps and trips.

How To Break Up A Fight! (GRACIE BREAKDOWN)

I think you and this guy are on the same page. do yourselves a favor and watch his interview. He breaks down his "5 step plan" to completely murder the attackers and "anyone else who gets in his way"! this dude says he carries his katana because recently he has become more deadly without it...

How To Break Up A Fight! (GRACIE BREAKDOWN)

One of the video clips they show in this video is that dude in the blue shorts beating on that guy from mount with his girl trying to get him off. Having watched that full clip, I kinda find it hard to believe she would have been successful with this technique. The dude on top had grappling...
