I’ve watched this guy since his debut. Around after the Machida fight he started fighting down to his opponents level. It’s ABSOLUTELY possible, and even probable, that he has regressed as a fighter, but much of it is his headspace and prep. He still has the tools, body, and mind to wreck...
What a wild take. Hill’s best chance against a guy like Jiri, or Alex for that matter, is to introduce the threat of a TD to open up strikes. If it’s a pure striking battle Jamal has a better chance of being recognized by the general public that winning that. Not great odds either way.
You’re right that almost everyone has losses on their records.
The reality is that fans chirp fighters for previous losses constantly. Feel free to look at any of DP’s Twitter posts for evidence. This is just the same type of shit talking but more salient because whichever Paul brother it is...
I can’t speak to America, but in Canada pre-pandemic I had noticed a significant decrease in bars and restaurants who showed ppvs. There’s only a couple in most cities now (plus Boston Pizza franchises). Around the time GSP and Brock were around it was difficult to find space in local bars to watch.
This guy has pretty consistently got stuff wrong. Over the years he’s got a lot more wrong than he’s got right but he’s got the conviction and confidence of a much more successful man.
It certainly doesn’t sound like a fight Conor would want. I guess with Nate and Khabib tied up there isn’t a...
I dont disrespect him because of it. It was understandable in the situation. Someone tweeted this so I'll paraphrase, but he was upset because getting KO'd by Jones there proved to him that he was never really the champion, he was always second best.
That being said, it did not help DC's case...
When a man gets dummied like that you give him a bit of slack because he has no idea what just happened and was just told that a guy from 205 KOd him in round one after he spent the last six months telling us he was the best HW of all time.
I think he's just a big fan of combat sports and that comes through some times with some bias. It can be annoying at times, but its also really cool that they have someone that passionate about the sport on the broadcast. When you listen to like Joe Buck calling baseball games the guy doesn't...
I think Stipe is a good, well rounded fighter who was the best for the time that he was champ, but it felt like he came around right as the old guard were getting old and the new guys weren't quite there yet. I still feel like he didn't have a single title fight where I was wowed.
It HAS to be...
If what Dana is saying is correct that Holloway may be out for a while, then it probably would have been best to fight Stephens but its still a big risk. Also, thats a HUGE if right there. Who knows if Dana was right.
Does anyone remember when they put Stipe in that car in the Cleveland NBA championship parade kind of before it got started? It was one of the saddest things that I've ever seen.
I felt Yoel won too but it was close enough that you can't get upset at either guy winning. Yoel has a serious problem in his game that he is too willing to coast at periods in fights.
