Whats the trend with title challengers thinking they call all the shots lately? Seen a few cases now where the challengers thinks they can name the time and place and the champ just has to show up.
Arnold Allen said on his YT channel that he has an opponent booked and it isn't Giga. He was never even offered that fight apparently. I think it's more probable he faces Emmett or maybe Ige.
Also don't think MVP vs Wonderboy is likely. They are friends and both have poo pooed the idea of them...
You really can't please MMA fans.
They complain when you feed prospects with cannon fodder over and over and call for them to fight somebody with a pulse.
They still complain when the latter happens because "wahhh it will kill off a prospect".
It isn't like people can't come back from losses...
Aspinall vs Blaydes 2
Leon vs Belal 2
MVP vs Neal/Buckley
Allen vs Ige/Emmett
Paddy vs Moicano/Green
Sounds like that would be a good main card to me.
US primetime sucks though. What a dumb fucking decision by the UFC.
My issue is that its a gigantic leap to go from "X hasn't publicly called for a fight with Y" to some form of "X doesn't want to fight/is ducking/is avoiding a fight with Y".
That was my contention with you in our Leon/Belal back and forth. Fighters generally fight who they are told to fight...
Well there you go. I'm happy to eat my crow on that. Congrats.
Not backing down on the ducking accusations though. Still gonna need proof whenever you or anybody else for that matter claim or imply it. Like you said though, you aren't going to be able to show evidence of ducking.
No way they give Leon a rematch.
He isn't the most exciting fighter either in the cage or on the mic and he isn't one of Dana's guys.
If he loses he's getting the Aljo treatment. Just as Belal will if he wins when he loses the belt.
Gane is already European based and would make a load of French fans cross the channel to attend the fight.
He's also a proven commodity at HW and it's a fight they have wanted to put together for a while.
I'm all for Poatan at HW, but they aren't going to put him on a UK card any time soon...
That would be awesome but there's no way the UFC sticks arguably their biggest current star (Conor aside) on a UK card that will sell out with or without him.
Besides I think Pereira wants to get his feet wet at HW before going after the belt. He called for 'a fight at HW' not Aspinall...
How is Stipe the #1 contender when he hasn't fought in over 3 years, hasn't won in 4, and was brutally KOed his last time out.
Meanwhile Aspinall has finished 4 of the current top 10 ranked heavyweights in 8 minutes combined, winning the interim title in the process.
Do you know what an...
Given the nature of his injury, Jones isn't likely to fight again until at least August.
It's possible he could fight Stipe during international fight week, but not likely. August is probably more realistic and maybe even later than that. We may be looking at another MSG show late in the year...
To all the people saying prime Mike Tyson is top 5 ever and KOs Lewis early.
Who the hell did he actually beat to suggest that?
Look at who he fought during his pre prison sentence "prime". Tillis, Marvis Frazier, Berbick, Bonecrusher Smith, Frank Bruno, Spinks who wasn't even a HW.
If any...
Here's the thing about Tyson. He never beat another great of his own era.
The only ATG he beat was Larry Holmes, who was a great of the previous era, was ancient by then, called out of retirement and without a training camp for a big payday.
The other greats from his own era were Lewis...
Ankalaev.
Aspinall fight isn't at all competitive. Aspinall smokes him in under half a round.
Ankalaev is a bad style matchup for Poatan, but winnable. Ankalaev is known for his sometimes negative fight IQ and he has been shown to be susceptible to calf kicks. If Blachowicz can wreck both his...
