Sure, it'd be intriguing and a big payday, but would we really see the best Stipe, having never fought at 205 before? Just feels like he'd be stupidly drained at that weight, and/or over-bloated on the rehydration.
The thing is, with his height and length, he shouldn't be outsized at 170. He's built himself up in recent years, but he's still undersized/understrength in the body, but that's on him.
There's one HW in the top 15 who fought at less than 245 in his last fight. This idea that you can be a 230lb HW (fuelling the "why doesn't Jones move up?!") these days is a myth.
It's entirely possible that he's not allowed to discuss that publicly at this stage, without further potential legal ramifications, or being seen as influencing any further investigation or court matters that might occur.
Or, he might just not want to talk about it. I doubt it's something he's...
They might not need to round out to put themselves up there. I mean, we've got guys like Derrick Lewis becoming championship contenders as it is, and once the current crop of top guys that are most 35+ years old retire/fade out over the next few years, a lot of these "unskilled" guys will move...

Set and forget for five years, and divisional depth will naturally evolve and grow and sort itself out.
