We are frustraded because we like to see fighters not players

Much of the entertainment value in Usman fights may be derived from acknowledging the many things he didn't have to do to win.

Media Ali declares war against ESPN.

I saw his show today and I'm pretty sure he was just trying to make it more interesting.

Shoop Who in the UFC can stop Usman?

Gilbert Burns is one of the only WW fighters that stands a chance against Usman in the clinch. When Usman gets the clinch, he seems to be almost apologizing to his opponent as he repeatedly scores points at will and threatens the takedown.

Do you think Masvidal really believed he could beat Usman?

Absolutely, Masvidal had his chances but Usman's head movement has always been exceptional - he rarely if ever gets truly rocked. Next time maybe go for more uppercuts?

Is “pre reality show Jorge” an actual thing? Has Jorge actually improved that much since? Discuss

It's way overblown. Masvidal has often tried to fight with urgency throughout his career but that can be very tough when certain opponents were not always there to get hit. Usman's dominant wrestling may expose Masvidal's overall game unless he establishes a strong takedown defense.

Garbrandt still has the same problem.

The lesson I got from this fight is that sometimes a bit of gambling pays off big time.

Jorge will expose himself if he doesn't fight Burns or Covington next.

Seems like a a bit of a no-brainer - fight for less now but with more people watching become a big star and retire.

Does anyone really think McGregor can beat Silva?

    Absolutely he can win.

If guys like Jones and Masvidal want to make money, can’t they just go somewhere else?

I believe Dana acknowledged that for different reasons some fighters may not be dying to fight at this moment and that is fine with him.

Jon Jones reveals how stupid Sherdog has become (long read)

Respect to Dana for keeping the show going but slightly disappointing UFC doesn't appear dedicated to make some potentially exciting fights including Jones.

The UFC is overhyping Burns to lowball the likes of Masvidal and other elite WWs

Not if he is willing to take a lot less money.

It's game over for Jones if he fights Ngannou

He has to be jacked if he is gonna stand and bang with Francis.

Jon Jones doesn't have guts to face Ngannou at heavyweight

Ironically, he might just be too smart to take on that kind of risk.

    A. Smith had a choice (his own fault)

A simple, even elegant solution to these questions could lie with the ref. Whenever a ref believes that a fighter is unknowingly (or otherwise) putting themselves at unnecessary risk for any reason, call in the doctor to give the fighter a brief once-over in between rounds. Maybe even ask a...
